"The evil bitch of a sister"

The journey to the Devine household was long. Too long. Harold's parents house was somewhere on the outskirts of Seattle, the opposite side to where Harold lived so it took a long time.

It gave Alison time to think of all the bad things that could happen during the dinner. Time to think about how she can make a good impression in front of his family.  Time to think about what kind of questions they would ask and how they would want her to answer.

She knew that his family probably thought that she was a gold digger of some thought and she didn't blame them. She would be the same. But she hoped that they would end up liking her.

Alison turned to Harold who was looking straight ahead with utter concentation on his face as he drove. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness as it was possible that his parents wouldn't approve of them. That would mean that they would have to end their relationship or face the consequences. Which would probably be her dead. She loved Harold so much and couldn't imagine a world that didn't include him in some way. She didn't want to have to live in a world without him.

Harold could feel her eyes on him him so he glanced at her. He could tell that she was scared of how his parents would react. But after the positive response from his father, he didn't feel worried.

His hand went to her thigh and he gave her a wink and a smile.

"Don't worry, my family are going to accept you instantly" was all he said but Alison didn't feel fully convinced.

When Alison and Harold walked into the Devine household, Harold was immediately attached by a women who was a little taller than Alison. She couldn't see her face but she could see that she had black hair and a full figure. She was speaking rapid Italian whilst hugging Harold. When she finally let go she turned to Alison with curious eyes.

She had dark brown kind eyes and  perfect facial features. Everything was perfect. The correct she nose, mouth, chin, everything. Her jaw line was sharp and perfect. She had a figure to die for and held elegance in the way she stood. Her skin seemed smooth and had a natural tan. Alison could see the slight resemblance in the facial features and realised that this was Harold's mother.

She felt Harold put a hand around her waist and smiled at his mother.

"Mama, this is Alison, my girlfriend" he said proudly and Alison would usually swoon but this wasn't the time.

Swallowing her nerves she spoke, "Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs-"

Before she could finished her sentence, arms engulfed her. She was stunned momenteraly when she felt Harold mom hug her, but quickly hugged her back. Happiness spreading through her as this meant that she had accepted her, which shocked Alison as she had prepared herself for hostility but instead was greeted with open arms. When she pulled away, she looked so happy and Alison wasn't sure how she had done it.

"Call me Louise dear" the women said before turning to her son, happiness evident.

"Lei è bellissima {She's beautiful}" Louise continued as she looked at her son.

The women started to speak Italian and Alison had a feeling that they were talking about her. Suddenly the women screamed something and she immediately saw a figure running towards Harold and launching themselves onto him. It was a short girl with long brown curly hair wearing a light pink dress and silver shoes. The girl clung to Harold as he hugged her back with a smile on his face that Alison couldn't help but be mesmerised.
