Wanting the best for all of us.

I woke up a few hours later with Aarons snoring, lifting my head up I smiled and placed it back down on his shoulder gently trying not to wake him.

"Good Afternoon." Bacon smiled looking in the sun visor at me as we stopped for gas.

"Hey." I answered quietly.

"Zak's in the gas station." He tweaked his head to the side making me nod lightly.

I didn't want to ask about the conversation in the car before I fell asleep, hell I'd love to know what was said but a part of me was afraid of the answers.

Today we were heading to Soledad, California for the crew to Investigate Los Coches Adobe, a former brothel where a lady in black is said to roam around. It was 6 hours from Vegas, it was also only an hour from Carmel by the sea. I hoped that I would have time just to slide back into Carmel and replace the bad memories with new ones.

A jolt from Bubz made me sit up back into my own seat fixing my belt on properly, yawning I rubbed some life into my face when the car door opened on my side. I looked at the hand in front of me holding a bottle of water out for me to take.

"You need to stay hydrated." Zak spoke waiting for me to accept it.

I took it from him slowly "Thank you."

Giving me a small smile he closed the door and rounded the car getting back into his side, "Okay Bacon." He sighed contently.

I looked at him as he focused back on the road, the bottle of water in my hand felt like an olive branch. He was trying to make amends only he had no idea how big of an Olive branch he would need.

I'll take what I can get...

Whilst I sat in the back quietly, I took aaron's iPad out from under his hand and began looking at baby clothes, cribs, travel seats, prams, bottles and sterilisers. I aimed for low to high on the sort by list. That alone made me feel bitter, if Zak didn't want to be a part of this then he could shove his money...

I'd do it all alone and nobody could say I used him as a meal ticket.

I found a 4 drawer dresser with removable changing topper with beaded and crown mouldings, in a light grey. It would fit perfectly in the my room and saved me having to by a changing table. Picking up my phone I took a photo of it on my phone to keep back for later, when I was back in Vegas I'd drive to the store and take a look at it before ordering it in case it wasn't as nice as it seemed online.

The nights I couldn't sleep I had made a list of things I needed to buy for Bubz, slowly each night I remembered something else and I would type it down. So now I used my time to find the things and tick them off my list.

It ranged from nursery furniture to carriers and slings right up to baby bath tubs. I was going to be prepared if anything!

"What are you up to?" Bacon asked hearing my phone.

"Shopping." I answered looking up to give him a quick smile before picking up my phone.

"More clothes?" He joked but before I could answer Zak took the iPad and looked at the screen. His demeanour changed and he handed it back without commenting at the baby things on screen.

I went back to what I was doing, putting my phone on silent not to annoy them with the capture sound of each photo I took.

Baby clothes...

I made the biggest mistake in the world when I clicked onto that, because I wanted everything!

"Awh." I awed at a black body suit but its hood was white with panda ears on. I wanted it. I wanted it to fit me because I'd rock the shit out of that!

Looking up I caught Zak looking over his shoulder at the screen with a small smile on his face, his eyes caught mine before he turned back around and putting his head into his phone.

I wanted him to be sat beside me... I wanted to be cuddled into him ordering things together. I wanted him to be excited about this as I was.

My phone vibrated making me tilt my head, Zak had text.

Zak{ Order what ever you want. I want only the best for you both.

I got a little choked up over his text but also wanted to text him back sayin- Screw it.

Maria { I want the best for all three of us.

Zak looked down at his phone and read the text before putting it it down and pushing his sunglasses over his eyes blocking out my chance of seeing any real emotion.

Infuriating is what is was.

"I like that one." Aaron croaked beside me tapping on a picture. When it popped up I took a photo, I liked it too.

Bubz daddy wasn't just any person.. Daddy was a demon hunter so I had to have a little bad ass in it.

"Bubz might be a little lady.." I reminded Aaron.

"Nah, I think Bubz is a boy. But..." Aaron slid the iPad off me and began looking through the baby clothes making me smile. "If Bubz is a girl then she can have this one."

 

"Stars." I smiled looking at it.

"Yep. Hey you won't have to worry about night feeds either, I don't sleep so shot gun I'll do them." Aaron smiled.

I scrunched my face up to hide the fact his sweetness, loyalty and kind heartedness had brought tears to my eyes.

"Oh god.. Hormones." He laughed as my face relaxed and tears slipped out of my eyes.

"Dude.." Bacon sighed.

"I didn't mean to!" Aaron chuckled as I wiped them away quickly.

I moved back beside Aaron and gave him a hug "I'm lucky I have you." I mumbled into his ear.

"-cause she ain't got you." I heard Bacon mutter to Zak who shot him a look.

"You'll always have me. Hey does that mean I can dress Bubz as Yoda now?" He joked as I pulled away making me lift my brow.

"I'm kidding.." He added.

"No you weren't." I giggled.

"You're right.. I wasn't but definitely going to have something with star wars on." He replied.

I didn't doubt that for a minute.
