"Wake up."

Kaden's POV

I walked into my home with my mate still slumped in my arms. The others filed in behind me. The beta walked over and I straightened up.

"She's a... Umm what do you want me to do with her?" My Beta Ryan said in an unsure voice. I growled softly.

"Nothing... I've got her... and Ryan?" My beta turned to look at me.

"Next time lock her in the room if you must." I said as the others went back to their rooms as my beta nodded. Before he could question me or start another conversation I was in my room.

I laid my mate softly on the bed and sat back on the couch far from her. Her chest rose and fell with struggling grace and I found my eyes locked on her bruised figure. Her arm was sitting awkwardly. I took in the claw marks and blood... I did that.

I left and changed into some pants and a shirt quickly in the bathroom. I dressed my wounds to let them heal and returned to her. With a soft sigh I sat back on the couch.

I paced outside of the pack hospital room. I'd had to move Amelia there some weeks ago because she wouldn't wake up.

After a moment I barged back in the room causing the doctor examining the monitors to jump. I looked over at my mate hooked up to tubes laying on the bed.

"It's been twenty-seven days, why hasn't she woken?" I growled to the doctor who flinched under my tone.

"You attacked your mate. Her wolf couldn't take it. So they went to sleep, a purposeful coma; they need to heal Kaden." The doctor told me for the millionth time. I snarled and ran a hand through my hair.

"If she'd've just listened..." I growled and heard a scoff beside me.

I glanced over at Ryan and frowned, wondering how long he'd been in here, he growled softly, "There's always someone else to blame, it's never your fault is it Kaden?" He said before leaving the room. I glared after his retreating form and the door shut leaving only I, the doctor, and my mate.

What the hell was his problem? I turned my attention over to the doctor.

"So you don't know when she'll wake up?" I asked the doctor and he shook his head.

"Then get out." I snarled and he scurried out of the room hurriedly. I looked back toward my mate and brought up a chair beside the bed.

Her wounds had healed as had her arm, her bruises gone... but she wouldn't wake up. Did I feel remorse? A little; I think.

Was I pissed off still? Hell yeah.

I slowly took her cool fingers in mine and did my best to hold her unresponsive hand. Deep inside I felt hurt and heard my wolf whine in pain. But I frowned and pushed it away as I looked at her soft breathing.

I sat in the chair doing some paperwork. My mate still hadn't woken and it'd been over a month. My wolf was anxious. I was minutely restless.

Then a noise caught my ear and I glanced up from the task of writing schedules for border patrol; we'd been having some trouble with rouges lately. I looked up to my mate.
