"Her world spun as did everyone's."

Amelia's POV

I sighed and brushed my teeth. It'd been a long day. I rinsed out my mouth and spit before running a towel over my face.

I hadn't been by Kaden's since I left that day. My job at the bar still held and I was making a decent living. Noah and I talked a bit, but that was all. He lived the life of a true lone wolf, and he loved it.

I'd thought about returning a few times during these months away, but I never actually did. I was liking being independent and taking care of myself. Sure, it got lonely at times, but that's okay.

I exited the bathroom and climbed in bed.

I laid there staring at the ceiling when I thought I heard a noise. I shook it off at first before I was sure I heard it again. I frowned and sat up pulling the covers off of me.

I made my way down my hallway towards the living room going for the kitchen. I walked passed the living room and glanced in to find nothing.

I stared at the door and it was still shut. Nothing was moved. Everything was in place. I sniffed the air, the scent hadn't changed. No one had been here.

You're losing it. I told myself as I shrugged and walked toward the kitchen, casting one last glance around the living room.

Once in the kitchen I made a beeline for the refrigerator. My hand grasped the handle and I opened the freezer and grabbed some ice cream. I placed the tub on the counter and grabbed a large spoon from the drawer before popping off the lid and digging into it.

I shoveled the frozen goodness into my mouth and hummed as the cookies and cream ice cream danced on my tongue.

Knight... Rain said suddenly and I forced myself to swallow the rest of the mouthful I had before putting the ice cream back.

Hush Rain. I said and she whined and faded back to where she'd been. I shook my head and placed the spoon in the sink.

I looked at the spoon for a bit. Fragments if cookie and melted ice cream began to slowly slip toward the drain and I huffed and washed it off before placing it back in the drawer with the other utensils.

I began to close the drawer when I swore I heard a door shut and innerly I jumped like a frightened feline.

I whirled around and walked toward the living room. Suddenly the house seemed darker than before.

Why am I so scared? Stop being a punk Melia. I told myself and took a deep breath. I was an Alpha she-wolf, a Luna, whatever it was(probably just my mind playing tricks on me; hearing things) I'd face it head-on.

My heart began a steady drum as I neared the corner that turned into my living room before I stopped. My feet paused about two yards away from the turn and I was horribly hesitant.

I could just go by and escape to my room. What if I was hearing things? Maybe nothing's there at all.

I was about to just make a dash for my room when I heard the movement and creak of my couch and I was instantly tensing up. What the fuck? My heart started pounding and my fists clenched.

You know the distinct fight or flight response our body goes into at the sense or prospect of a threat? That's what was happening and it hit me all at once and both at once. I wanted to just go to my room yet at the same time to hold my ground and tell whoever to get the hell out of my house.

Who just waltzed into someone's house?!

I frowned at the thought of some psychopath in my sanctuary and held back a scoff. I wish someone would try to hurt me in my own home, they'd have another thing coming to them.

My jaw clenched as did my fists and I scowled. I wasn't just going to hide here and let someone crash in my home that I didn't know, nor had invited. I was a Luna for Goddess's sake!

Rain growled softly inside me and I felt her pacing around on high alert. I would not go silently into the night.

If someone wanted to fight it was coming.

I held my breath as I slipped into my living room and saw a figure on my couch. A growl rumbled in my throat before I realized who it was. My growl immediately cut off and my fighting instincts flew out the window leaving me weak and momentarily paralyzed with shock. How the hell did he get here? Why the hell was he here?

He sat on the couch, his hair was a mess and he looked like he hadn't slept in a while. Dark hung under his eyes and his poster was slumped.

His eyes were halfway closed as he laid back on the couch.

My tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth as I watched him, dumbfounded. I stared at him in building bewilderment then finally found my voice.

"Noah?" I gasped.

Hopefully the next update will be quick!
