"Every girl needs her mother, but I guess you thought otherwise."Amelia's POV
I felt as if the world had just fallen on top of me and I had no one to lean on. I backed away from the boy who claimed to be my brother.
"Amelia-" Kaden said and I shook my head.
"You're not to speak to me. Don't follow me, just leave me alone and think about your precious Emma." I growled and practically ran away from the cellars.
"Ooh, who's Emma?" I caught the boy's instigating voice and Kaden's growl followed.
My feet stumbled many times as I exited that dark hell hole and soon I was rushing through the house not bothering to stop for a second.
I blundered past pack members and soon I was pelting toward the woods.
The trees blurred around me as I ran onward as my head pounded.
This made no sense.
How had my mother been alive this whole time and I knew nothing about it? I howled in disparity and let my paws lead me on.
I went deep into the woods and soon was at a meadow where I collapsed in exhaustion.
"Daughter." I froze at the voice and turned my head upward.
My eyes landed on a gray-white she-wolf emerging from the brush and I tensed at the older version of Rain. Her crystal gold eyes stared back at me and my tail rose in warning. She gave a wolfish grin.
Mother?
I stood on my paws and growled.
"Don't be afraid Amelia, I mean you no harm." My mother said padding towards me. Her fur shimmered and flowed softly with the wind.
"Why?" I growled softly and she tilted her head.
"What troubles you?" She said and her voice was soft yet rough.
"You just left me." I said and her left ear flicked back slightly.
"I know... I wasn't ready for a family. Plus, another had caught my eye." My mother said sitting down and her tail swept at the leaves scattered about the ground.
"A rogue." I growled feeling anger swell in me.
My mother nodded, "Yes, a rogue. He was quite the charmer." My mother's eyes flicked with admiration.
"Strong, independent, cunning. Everything a wolf should be." She finished with a sigh and I wrinkled my snout.
"Sounds dreamy. Get out." I growled and my mother tilted her head in what looked like surprise.
"What?" Her ears perked in alertness.
"Leave." I growled and my chops pulled back in a snarl.
"But I've only just arrived. I wanted to see you." She said and my chest puffed in anger.
"You could've seen me countless times. You attacked my pack. You've been attacking all the packs! You're not my mother! I don't claim you! Now leave!" I snarled and crouched ready to fight if necessary. My mother licked her chops and her ears laid flat on her head briefly.
"Amelia if I knew what your father would do I would've never left you with him. Julius was so kind... I never thought he'd snap as he did. Your father was a good man he-"
"You did that to him! You turned him into that and you left me! You left us! For some stupid, flea-infested rogue!" I snarled and my mother bared her fangs and leapt to her feet the fur along her back standing ridged.
"You don't know what you're talking about girl! I knew power when I saw it and your father was not it!" My mother snapped, her fangs flashing and I growled.
"Looks like I tapped a nerve." I spat and she huffed with frustration. She swayed her head glancing around.
Suddenly she huffed and sat back down again.
"I don't want to fight you. I want to talk, please." She said and her golden eyes watched me. I bared my fangs in anger.
"Just listen to me. Hear me out." She said and my ears laid back against my head.
"Fine." I growled.
