"Everything's changed. Not everything is fair."
Amelia's POV
I smiled as Kaden kissed me hungrily and I wrapped my arms around his neck. After some time we pulled away and the covers slid against us. Goddess, he was amazing.
"I love you." Kaden whispered and I snugged closer to him. I looked into his loving golden eyes and placed a soft kiss to his tantalizing lips.
"I love you too." I sighed and Kaden pulled me closer.
Moonlight peeked through the blinds and I cuddled against my mate.
"Go to sleep baby." Kaden whispered and kissed my forehead and I nodded softly before laying my head on his chest and closing my eyes. His heartbeat lulled me to sleep.

"Get up. Sorry if I'm disturbing anything, but Alpha, Luna, we're under attack!" I jolted awake to see Ryan barging into the room. Kaden immediately got out of bed and slipped on some clothes.
"What's happening?" Kaden growled and the Beta glanced toward the window.
"They attacked a patrol, there's a lot of them; rogues." Ryan growled and Kaden nodded curtly and started toward the door. I began to get up and he turned to me swiftly.
"Stay in the room." Kaden told me and I started to object.
"Stay in this damn room! Please." Kaden yelled and finished in a softer plea. His eyes locked with mine silently pleading with me. I sighed and nodded.
"Fine, but if anything happens I'm going out there." I said and my mate frowned.
"Amelia-" he began.
"No, hurry and go, the pack needs you." I said. I could hear howls coming from outside.
Kaden gave me a look and started out the door. He paused and sighed, "Please listen." Without saying anything else the Alpha and Beta left the room and closed the door.
My heart beat in nervousness as I heard snarls coming from outside and howls rising up. The sounds grew and resonated across the room drowning me in the horrible noise.
We must help the pack! Rain barked and licked her chops warily.
Kaden said to stay here. I told her though the sounds outside made my heart lurch.
I heard yelling and jumped to my feet.
I had to at least see what was going on. I hurried to the window and pulled the blinds back to see outside. My heart seemed to become logged in my throat at the sight of hundreds of wolves locked in battle. The front lawn was packed with fighting bodies and the stench of blood somehow wafted into the room.
Rain snarled as our pack mates were taken down, overwhelmed by the vast majority of rogues. It didn't make any sense, rogues were hardly known to put up with each other let alone be so organized. We may be the largest pack, but it was almost as if every rogue on this side of the country was here.
It was like the Three Hundred going against the Persians. Even if we fought valiantly, this would not end without horrible bloodshed.
Help them! We must! Rain howled and I nodded in agreement.
Without anymore thought I flung open the window and my snarling white wolf growled inside. Bunching up my muscles I leapt from the window, diving into my free fall and landing with a hard thud by the heated battle.
