Ryan's POV

I hurried toward the bathroom yells and snarls were echoing through the house.

As I made my way toward the bathroom Amelia stumbled out shaking. I would've asked her what was wrong, but the noises in the bathroom caused me to go inside.

My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. Kaden was fighting two pack members and winning of course.

He grabbed one by the throat and slammed him against the wall. Some tile broke and fell from the impact.

"He did it all! I barely did anything!" The guy chocked out and the alpha wasn't hearing it. With effortlessness Kaden ripped the guy's throat from his body. The dead man slumped to the ground and Kaden gave the body a kick to the head.

Another guy was in the corner staring wide eyed and reeking of fear.

"You touched her?" Kaden growled blood spattered on his clothes and skin. The guy's face paled.

"Yeah, but why are you freaking out Alpha? She's the Omega. We were only having some fun." The guy said rambling.

"She's my Omega!" Kaden snarled and the guy flinched.

"Your...? Oh shit..." the man said and dreaded realization sparked in his eyes. He'd figured it out, knew he'd attempted to defile the Alpha's mate... he knew he was done for.

Kaden lunged at him and ripped him apart in the most literal sense. The man's tortured yells rang in my ears. I had to look away and only when the screaming abruptly ended did I look back.

Blood pooled on the ground and splashed against the walls. It was horrific yet I didn't blame him for reacting that way, but I was a little confused.

My alpha backed away from the bodies and stood there panting his arms at his sides, his hands clenched into fists. His eyes were black with anger.

"Kaden." I said after a while and he looked at me. His fangs poked at his lips. Blood covered his mouth.

"What happened?" I asked and he growled.

"They were trying to take her clothes off." Kaden growled and kicked a head and it smashed against the wall. I nodded in understanding. Just the thought made my wolf growl with rage.

"She was telling them no and they just laughed." Kaden snarled and punched the wall.

I watched him, unsure of how to react.

"You okay?" I asked him and he growled softly.

"I'm fine." He growled.

I lifted a brow, "Ya know, it's almost like you care." I said and he glared at me.

"Shut up Ryan-just shut the hell up. I'm not in the mood for this." Kaden snarled and without another word he stomped out of the bathroom.

I followed him out and saw Amelia leaned against the wall shivering. Kaden stood by her his eyes watching her with too many emotions to decipher. He looked at her and took a step to her then he stooped down and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him... yet it wasn't a rough touch.

"You're in heat... go to the room and get cleaned up, then rest or something. You'll stay in there until it's passed. Come along Ryan." He growled and then stood up and marched away leaving his mate staring after him.

He was right. I could feel the want to mate radiating off of her, yet she showed no signs.

I shot Amelia a glance as she slowly stood and made her way to their room. She looked shocked and confused and scared.

I looked away and followed my alpha through the house. His commanding voice echoed through the pack mind link as he told everyone to meet outside on the porch. Everyone, apart from Amelia.

He paced around and looked at the masses of werewolves in front of us as we stood on the porch.

Finally he stopped pacing. Everyone looked at him wide eyed for he was still dowsed in blood. He growled as he spoke, "No one will touch the Omega, am I clear?" The pack members glanced at each other.

"Two men just tried to attack her; I killed them and will not hesitate to do the same to any of you if you hurt her." He growled and the pack muttered in acknowledgement.

I groaned at a pounding on my door and opened it rubbing the nap I took from my eyes.

I glanced down to see a distraught looking Nancy and I frowned in concern, before I could speak she beat me to it.

"Ryan I can't find my toy!" Nancy whined coming up beside me and hugging my leg. She was so tiny. It was adorable.

I glanced down at her, "You're nine-years-old. You should be able to deal without it." I sighed. She pouted and crossed her little arms.

"I don't like you." She huffed, "I'll ask Amelia to help me find him then." She growled and I felt my heart stutter.

"Him? No; I'll help you. Where'd you have him last?" I asked and she sighed.

"In my room, but I can't find him!" Nancy whined and I chuckled softly.

"Okay, okay. Let's go look for him." I said and followed her to her room.

I looked around the room and frowned. I'd looked everywhere for the damned toy. How'd she lose it?

I sighed and then a thought came to me. If it was where I thought it was I was going to hate myself. I bent down before glancing under the bed and behold! There it was.

I grabbed the soft plushy and and shook my head. I stood up and said, "Nancy it was right--" I cut off my sentence when I realized she was no longer in the room with me.

My wolf whined in disappointment and embarrassment for me talking to no one.

"Nancy?" I called and clutched the toy in my hand.

Where'd she run off to now?
