38| Let the Blood Run

"Sometimes he broke and everyone just prayed he'd get better."

Ryan's POV

I hopped in the car and drove to the pack house. My heart pounded and the pack link was alive with shouts about 'the alpha has lost his mind.'

"Kaden what the hell are you doing?" I asked aloud as I neared the house.

Then I got a link that made my heart stutter: 'Nancy was in Alpha's room still, now they're both in there and Alpha's yelling at her.'

I pulled up to the house and bailed out of the car.

My feet led me to the front door which was hanging open, obviously pushed in. I looked around the front room and frowned. It was trashed, claw marks and debris littered the furniture, well what was left of it. I followed what looked like the work of a tornado through the house and finally, to Kaden's door.

"She has someone else!" Kaden snarled followed by a crash. I tried the door, but it was locked.

"She picked that mutt over me!" Another crash.

"A-Alpha calm down." Nancy's scared voice said and my heart ached.

"She picked him over me!" Kaden snarled.

"No! Alpha don't!" Nancy screamed before the sound of glass breaking.

"Why'd you do that, y-you're bleeding." Nancy cried out and I pounded on the door.

"Open the door." I said loudly.

"Ryan!" Nancy said sounding relieved and I sighed. She sounded okay.

After a moment the door opened and Nancy flung herself at me. I caught her and held her against me.

"It's okay Princess I'm here." I said and she cried against me.

"Alpha's in the bathroom... look." She whimpered and I set her down before creeping into the disastrously messed up room. I looked towards the bathroom and growled at the sight.

Kaden stood there looking at a broken mirror. His hands were bloody as was his forehead and cuts laced his arms. A bloody piece of glass was in his hand and he just stood there as blood flowed from his arms. I couldn't help gagging a bit at the sight.

"Kaden what the fuck are you doing?!" I snarled and marched over then swatted the glass from his hand.

He looked at me and snarled before I grabbed his arms. I stared at his bleeding wounds. Why wasn't he healing?

"Why aren't you healing?" I hissed and my old friend laughed bitterly.

"I don't want to heal." He growled and snatched his arms out of my grasp and his blood slicked my hands.

"Kaden you need to." I growled and gripped his shoulders and out of nowhere he shoved me and I stumbled back and fell out of the bathroom.

"Shut the hell up! You don't control me. I'm the Alpha, and I say you need to leave me alone!" He spat and I frowned and got to my feet.

"Kaden you need to heal yourself." I spat and he just laughed.

"No. I'm not going to." He chuckled and looked back at the mirror. His jaw ticked and his eyes were dark and seemed to look off into the distance.

"He's in there Ryan's trying to get him." I glanced over to see the former Alpha and Luna coming into the room led by Nancy. Katlyn took one look at Kaden and her legs gave out. Clayton caught her and at the same time caught sight of his son.

"Katy-- Oh Goddess, Kaden what the hell have you done?" Clayton growled his eyes wide as he helped his wife to her feet. Katlyn covered her eyes for a moment before sighing and dropping her hands to her sides.

"Kaden, stop this." She growled and pain shown in her eyes.

The alpha scoffed and continued to look at the mirror. Finally Clayton stormed over and grasped his son by the shoulders and pulled him out of the bathroom.

"He won't let himself heal." I explained as Clayton fumbled with his son's bleeding wrists a look of dismay on his face. Meanwhile Katlyn began crying.

"Damnit! Where's Manik and Tikil?" Clayton asked and as if they knew the sisters appeared in the doorway.

"His mate chose another." Manik stated and walked into the room.

"Don't be so dramatic pup... All in good time." The sorceress said and with a touch of her finger the cuts started to heal.

"No!" Kaden snarled suddenly and lunged at the woman but with a raise of her hand the Alpha was asleep and everyone looked around in shocked silence.

"This isn't good at all." Manik said and looked at the sleeping Alpha.

"What do we do?" Katlyn asked and for a while Manik was quiet.

"I'm not sure Katlyn... I'd say find his mate, but with this response I'm not sure if that's the best idea... He may not be able to handle it." Manik said and I thought I saw pity flash in her eyes.

"Its a shame. Young love can be so complicated." The sorceress sighed and shook her head softly.

"He should be fine... just put him in bed. Let him sleep. I'll check on him tomorrow. Now, everyone go to bed... You all need it." She said once Kaden was in bed.

With a wave of her hand the house was back to normal and she sighed.

"Goodnight everyone." Then her and her sister were gone again.

The room was tense as everyone started heading to bed.

I looked at my alpha and growled lowly.

Damnit Amelia.

Damn both of them, they needed to grow up.
