Imagine not knowing how to dance and Legolas having none of it. He takes you out and teaches you.💫
You sat in the corner of the dining hall. Well, more like hid in the corner.
It was the feast of Starlight, and oh was it a beautiful night in Mirkwood.
Ever since the Battle of the Five Armies the darkness had been slowly lifting off the immense forest. It was 60 years later now, and stars wiggled through the leaves of gigantic and ancient trees.
All around you was laughter and music and light... and dancing. Your age old nemesis.
When you were young your mother left for Valinor, so she was never able to teach you the fine art. Your father is a warrior and has never really cared for 'women's things'.
There was also another trouble on your heart. Prince Legolas, your best friend, was soon leaving on an urgent summons in Rivendell. You desperately wished you could go with him, but you knew his father would never approve. Deep in the crevices of your being you felt love for the young princeling springing up.
Alas, it would never be. In your silver dress you sat, your (Y/H/C) colored hair spilling down your back.
Suddenly, you felt a light touch on your shoulder. Turning around, you found Legolas.
"Hello mellon, why do you look so down? How come you're not dancing?" he asked gently.
You smiled nervously. "Well I've just been in deep thought is all, but it's nothing."
His expression said that he didn't believe you, even though you were telling the truth. Well, a half truth.
"I see," he breathed, smiling, "but now I must ask, may I have this dance?"
You blushed and looked at your lap. "Well... I actually don't know how... to dance" you stuttered.
When he laughed lightly you looked up. Was he making fun of you?
"What?" you asked, tears welling in your (E/C) eyes.
He saw your expression and his smile fell.
"I am sorry, (Y/N) I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I promise I wasn't making fun of you," he said in earnest.
You breathed deep and sighed. "It's alright, I just need to calm down" you said trying to do just that. For you weren't only upset about his laughing, but also about his eminent departure.
"I know how I can help, let me teach you how to dance" he said quietly.
You looked up at him worriedly. "I don't think you want that. Besides, I don't want to make a mistake and make a fool of you and myself in front of the others."
He grinned mischievously.
"Who said we were going to dance here?"
With that he grabbed your hand and helped you up. He held out his arm and you hesitantly took it, not wanting to look desperate.
Gracefully and calmly, he led you away from the feast, earning a few whispers and stares from the crowd.
"What're you doing Legolas?" You whispered urgently.
