Can't Forget

Chapter 14

  BG walks into the kitchen and gets coffee and fixes a plate of food and sits down at the table and starts eating. Ko is eating and he stops and said," I'm sorry bro I wasn't thinking when I bust in"
  "It's cool bro, I'm glad you did if I'm honest. Cause that wasn't being slow and that is what I've got to do to make sure I don't lose her again. Like she said, we are different people and need to get to know each other." BG replied.
   JJ walks in and hits Ko on the back of the head and growls," knock next time" she goes to the stove and fixes a plate and grabs some coffee before sitting down across from Ko. JJ tells them she needs to leave after she eats.
Ko asks if she had talked to Chase and she glares at him. "No I haven't and yes I know I need to but I'm waiting til I figure out what to say." 
BG looks up from eating," what do you mean figure out what to say, you tell him that you had a good time and thank him for being a friend and looking out for you by calling Ko"
  JJ said," there is more to it than that BG and as much as you don't want to admit it, so no, it isn't that easy."
  BG said," it is that easy JJ I don't share and we said we would see how this goes so no you don't get to lead him on letting him think that he's got a chance if you care about him. It's easiest to make the cut quick"
  JJ looks at BG and said," I will handle this my way. Yes we agreed to see where this goes but you can't waltz in and start demanding I do things. I'm still confused BG and to be honest I'm scared. So I will handle this my own way. I owe him an apology and I need to figure it out."
   BG just looked at her and went back to eating knowing that he needed to hush cause he knew that once she dug her heels in that it was useless to talk to her.
JJ got up and started cleaning up the kitchen and Ko and BG went outside. Ko heads to JJ's truck and starts checking the oil and water levels and tire pressure making sure everything was good. Ko told BG that he did good by letting it go cause she was still like before in that respect. BG told him that he knew that much hadn't changed.
  JJ comes out carrying her bag and puts it in her truck before turning to the boys. She hugs Ko and thanks him for the weekend getaway. He tells her anytime she knows that and that he would see her soon and to send him a schedule. She promised she would.
   JJ turns to BG and he pulls her into a hug. She cries and he looks at her and she tells him"I  hate leaving you again when I just got you back."
He tells her," I will be seeing you soon. And I plan on talking to you everyday. I'm not gonna lose you again"
"Promise me BG?"
"I promise" he told her. "I have a few more days of tour then I'm done except a radio tour til after the first of the year. So I will be able to come visit you some."
JJ grins and said," I am so glad I have you back in my life. I have missed you so damn much and as bad as I hate to I have to get on the road."
BG smiles and pulls her in close," I am glad I have you back too! Now remember you can call me or text me anytime now baby girl. I am gonna miss you so much." He leans down and kisses her and she opens up deepening the kiss. BG presses her against the truck with his body and then pulls back telling her,"just a little something to remember me by"
JJ said," hell BG that ain't fair"
BG said," didn't claim to play fair, I play for keeps." as he winks at her and opens her door, he smacks her on the ass as she climbs in the truck. JJ shakes her head and tells them bye once again before pulling out of the driveway heading back home.

  When JJ gets home she texts BG

JJ: Just wanted to let you know I made it home. I'm gonna change and head to practice and I will talk to you after.
BG : Sounds good JJ, I will tell Ko. Is there gonna be any backlash from your girls boyfriend?
JJ : I hope not but I was informed he had made bail so I will be carrying and will keep the gym doors locked the entire time.
BG: Let me know when you leave and when you get inside, I know you hate it but I'm gonna worry about you.
JJ: I know and I love you for it
BG: Love you too darlin'

JJ changes and puts her practice clothes on and makes sure she has her pistol and before she heads out she texts David

JJ: Headed to practice just giving you a heads up.
D: I will patrol through there are you carrying?
JJ: yeah think it's best right now
D: Yeah it is will let you know if I hear anything

JJ walks out and gets in her truck and heads to the gym for practice always aware and keeping her eyes out for the boyfriend . She arrived and let her girls in and made sure the gym was locked. Oakley wasn't allowed to practice so she walked through plays and then the rest of the team scrimmaged with JJ taking Oakley spot. It was a good practice and JJ was pleased at their effort.
She got back home and text BG and let him know she was home safely. Ko text her said Chase had text him making sure she was okay so she needed to handle that situation.

JJ: Hey I just wanted to thank you for making sure I was okay the other night. You were a great friend and I appreciate what you did even if I didn't that night.
Chase: You're welcome, I was glad to help you out. I know this may be awkward but I still want to be your friend JJ we have had fun times these past 2 years but I realize that BG has your heart and that's okay I'm good with us just continuing our friendship. I won't lie to you I had hoped to be more but I saw your eyes and I knew then that i never had a chance with your heart
JJ : I'm sorry Chase, I never thought that BG and I would be where we are. We had been lied to and kept apart where we once were best friends. It's been 5 years since I had seen him. So we have a lot to work through. I really was trying to move on and I do care about you but I have to see how this works out and I would be honored if you still wanted to be friends And hang with me like we have.
Chase: I would be honored to count you as my friend. And honestly BG he is a really good guy but I guess you know that already since y'all were friends growing up. So we are good JJ
JJ: Thank you again! I will talk to you later.

JJ decides to call BG
"Hey darlin' what's up?"
" I just wanted to tell you that I text Chase and explained to him that you and I were gonna see how it played out since we had been kept apart by lies and thanked him for being a good friend the other night"

"How did he take it?"

"Good said he had figured it out and wanted to stay friends. I told him I would be honored to call him my friend and do like we had the last couple of years and hang out sometimes."

"Oookay are you sure JJ that he is okay with that? Cause I know that he wanted more than that with you the other night."

"Yeah I'm sure he told me he saw that you had my heart and it was useless to want anything else but he wanted to stay friends."

"Okay darlin', now how was your practice?"

"Good we may have a shot this year if we can stay healthy for a run in the playoffs. Oakley couldn't practice today so I had to scrimmage with them. She should be back tomorrow at least part way. Speaking of 5 am comes early and I am beat so I'm gonna call it a night BG"

"Okay go get some rest doll and I will talk to you tomorrow. Love you."

"Love you too"
