Oakley opens the door to her room and she goes and gets in the shower and she can't help but smile. She just woke up in the arms of Kolby Gilbert!!!! She is freaking out on the inside cause Coach Jax caught her coming out of his room.
She was freaking out last night after the team got back to the hotel. She text Ko and he was talking to her trying to calm her down, when he suggested she come see him. He met her at the door with a hug and told her to get comfortable that they could talk and watch a movie.
He had found the movie 8 Seconds and they were sitting on the bed watching it. Oakley told him," I'm scared Ko, this is my last game as a high school player and it's Coach's last game. What am I gonna do everything is changing and I don't know if I'm ready."
Ko said," Oak you are ready, you are a strong independent lady who can play ball with the best of them. You signed a full ride for UGA! And JJ well you will be seeing her a lot I'm sure. She loves you and is so proud of you not just about basketball but because you are strong. You got out of a bad relationship and are doing great."
"Yeah I'm doing so great that I haven't been on a date since it happened, no guy wants to go out with me. The last one who did beat the crap out of me cause I wouldn't sleep with him and had been being that way for a while that was just the worst one. The guys at school either see me like their sister or refuse to go out with me cause I won't spread my legs for them. So no I'm not doing great if I'm honest I think about going back because I'm so damn tired of being alone. I'm 18 years old and can't get a date. Then on top of that I am about to play the biggest game of my life so far. I'm pathetic." Oakley told him.
"Oakley look at me right now you are not pathetic and those boys in your school are blind and crazy! You are beautiful, your eyes are so blue that it's like looking into the ocean and your hair is like the sun has kissed it. And you are not going back to that asshole who beat you. I won't let you and JJ won't either. It would kill her if you went back it would make her feel like she failed you in some way. It would kill me Oakley if you went back" Ko said.
"Why do you even care Ko? We have been friends for 3 years now and kept the fact that BG was your brother knowing that he was my favorite singer. I went on and on about how hot he was and you just let me ramble, do you know how humiliated I felt when I found out?"
" I didn't tell you cause one JJ would have had my head and 2 I wanted you to like me for me not because BG was my brother. Do you know how many times that has happened to me? Girls find out that he's my brother and like me but really they are only looking for a way in with BG."
" Ko I can't believe you felt like that about me, you think so little of me that I would only like you because of BG? Well I guess I need to go then."
Ko jumps up and grabs her arm and said," Don't go Oak I didn't want to feel that way but I did because I wanted to keep you for myself. You make me smile when I've had a bad day and I love watching you play and I didn't want to share you with BG."
"Why Ko can you tell me that why cause I just don't get it."
"Cause you make me feel something I haven't ever felt and that scares the hell out of me Oakley. What I feel when I see you or I'm near you scare me, please don't go just stay and talk to me."
" Ko you are giving me mixed signals, what you are saying and then you push me away when we are together in person I don't have a clue what you really want."
" I want you Oakley but I know I'm not good for you I'm 26 years old and you are 18 how is that gonna work out? "
" Ko will you forget about our age and just tell me what you feel cause you know I want to be with you and that I like you I have told you that more than once but I can't keep doing the mixed signals so I'm gonna let you think about it and you can let me know what you decide."
With those words Kolby looked into Oakley's eyes and saw the hurt that he had put there and he watched as a tear ran down her cheek. He cupped her face in his hand wiping the tear away and in that moment he knew that what he was about to do would either turn out great or be a total disaster but he couldn't stop himself. Ko leaned in and softly placed his lips on Oakley's kissing her with a gentleness he didn't know he had. She gripped his wrist with her hand and pulled back looking into his eyes and she smiled. Kolby leaned back in and kissed her again running his tongue on her lower lip asking for entrance. Oakley opened her mouth and it was a soft sensual kiss that she knew she would never forget as long as she lived. Oakley pulled back and Ko said," let's watch a movie and we can figure all this out after the game. I need to talk to your parents before I can date you and JJ. But I can be your friend until I can do that, and friends don't bail on the night before a big game. Oakley smiled and nodded her head and they cuddled up in the bed watching the movie and both fell asleep.
Oakley comes back to the present she left Ko a note and slipped out this morning and of all people ran into Coach Jax. What was gonna happen she had no idea but she knew that it would work out cause she had a game to win today.
