Can't Forget

Chapter 62

   JJ woke up at 5am and made her way to the fitness room. She knew that she needed to work out and treat this day like any other but it was really hard. She was coaching in the final four game. If they lost it would be her last game as a coach and she wasn't ready to fail. She put in her earbuds and worked out for an hour until it was time to go get her team up and make sure they ate breakfast.
   As JJ was making her way to her room, she thinks about the game plan and what she needs to tell her team. She lets herself in and is surprised when the whole team is in her room and ready. Oakley and Holly tell her to hurry and get ready that breakfast was coming up soon. JJ hits the shower and her phone is playing music as she gets ready. She is wearing her grey dress pants and her royal blue sweater with her signature 4 inch heels that she coaches in. She sits down and the food is brought into her suite with a note:
Y'all need a good breakfast to be able to whoop some ass today. So enjoy and I will see y'all on the court!
I love you!
BG

JJ smiled and let them read the note and they all high fives each other. They eat and grab what they need and make their way over to the BJCC where they will start their pregame routine. It is a dream come true and JJ is taking pictures of it all to be able to document it for the girls and the surprise she is planning for them.  They make it and check in with the state official and their escort. They make their way to the locker room and JJ goes over the game plan and tells them to take on the moment and have fun. They were here to work and win but to have fun getting the win. She leaves them and looks at her phone and she has numerous good luck messages from her friends in Georgia and the people of the town. She takes the time to walk around and get herself centered and focused. The only one she hasn't heard from is BG. She knows he will be here but she needs him right now, so she texts.

JJ : Hey babe! Got a minute?
BG: Always for you, what's on your mind
JJ: Trying to get focused and hadn't heard from you. Thank you for breakfast!
BG: Turn around
JJ turns around and BG is standing there with his arms open and JJ goes to him and drinks in the calming influence he is on her. He whispers," you can do this baby, 32 minutes you and your team just like always. "
JJ smiles and kisses him," thank you baby I needed that reminder. I needed you."
BG hugged her close and said," I'm always here baby, I love you and as much as I want to keep you i know you got to go to work."
She nods and they kiss again and JJ makes her way back to the locker room as it's time to head out and warm up. The music is playing and the cheerleaders have line up and JJ walks through the tunnel with the team and as they come to the end the roar of the crowd stops them in their tracks. The whole town has shown up and then she sees the front row and it is full of her friends from home and they are all sporting tshirts with the school logo on it. All you can see is a sea of blue. It brings tears to JJ's eyes and she looks at her girls and said," 32 minutes of fun just you and the ball and your team. Hard and fast and leave it all on the court."
They run out to warm up and JJ walks to her bench and she turns and flashes the rock on symbol to her friends and she hears," That's my auntie J" she looks and sees Cam in BG's arms. She walks behind the bench and goes to Cam and BG bends over so Cam can tell JJ Good luck. Cam said," Auntie J it's time to whoop some ass, right Uncle B?"
JJ has to bite her lip from laughing and BG said," that's right little man just don't let your momma hear you say that or we are both in trouble."  JJ hugs Cam and makes her way to the bench. They do all the festivities of pregame and it's time for Tip off.
   The game is back and forth until halftime when JJ team had a lead of 10 points. After halftime they came out focused and won the game by 25 points. Championship game here they come!
  BG meets JJ as the team comes out and asks what the plans are? She tells him they are staying and watching the teams they will face on Wed. He smiles and said "well y'all are here the rest of the time. Your rooms are paid for, Mr Hayes has approved so you have a free day to watch basketball tomorrow and practice at the same place. And then do it all again to win the championship game on Wednesday. So lead on and I will sit with you after you see all your fans."
JJ walks and as she rounds the corner everyone is there to congratulate her and the team.  They spend time with the fans and then head back in to watch the girls game to see who they would face on Wednesday.
BG watches as JJ takes it all in and he is so proud of her. When they walk back in he said,"I love you and I'm so proud of you but I have to say you are so damn hot I want to take you to my room right now." JJ just smiled.
