Can't Forget

Chapter 59

     BG is on the bus headed to the next concert and the band is on the bus playing Call of Duty and just hanging out talking. Ben looks over at him and asks how JJ was doing . BG said,"I'm not sure haven't talked to her today but I know she had some people from the state coming today and then she is getting her girls ready for state. She has to win 2 more games and she will win a championship.  I don't know if that has really sunk in yet for her."
   "Well how do you think she's gonna handle yall being apart until May?" Ben asked him.
  "That will be the thing that we haven't experienced before and I don't know. I think she will be fine because she has been living on her own all this time and you know JJ she can kick ass with the best of them. If I had to say she will probably work herself to death to take up the hours that she spent with me or talking with me. Speak of the devil"

JJ:  Hey baby how's tour life?

BG: Its good on the bus with the boys until we get to the next stop.How was your day?

JJ: It was busy and awful. State people  were here today and I was audited. I hate that part of my job. About to head to the gym cause the little kids had the gym this evening and we have to practice to get ready for state in 5 days. Not to mention trying to secure rooms for the team.

BG: Sorry you have had a rough day baby. But I know you and you will push your girls and work yourself to the point of exhaustion.

JJ:  You know me pretty good but I just wanted to check in because I will be at practice when you start your concert so let me know when you are done. Love you

BG:  Glad you did darling I love you!

  BG looked at Ben and said," She's okay not great will work herself to exhaustion these next few days before the game. "

Ben said," What are you gonna do?"

BG said," Nothing I can do except what I am doing now and that is do my job let her do hers and talk and text when we can. Steal weekends when we can and just trust each other. Hell Ben if we can make it through Amber and a trial we can make it through this."

   JJ heads to the gym and lifts weights before her girls are scheduled to come in for practice. After that she turns on the sound system and plugs her phone in and does all her old basketball drills trying to work out all her frustrations from today and hoping that she will be so exhausted that she will be able to just fall into bed and sleep. She can't believe how much BG being in tour has affected her.
  The girls are coming in and they get to work and JJ tells then they will be leaving Sunday evening and checking into the hotel and then they will play at 10am on Monday. She tells then that they have worked hard all season but this is not time to let up. They all head home and Oakley asked " you okay coach ?"
JJ smiled and said," yeah trying to keep busy"
They walk out and say good night.
       JJ arrives home and showers when she gets a facetime request from BG. She knows that he is supposed to be doing a concert so she answers and sees PJ. PJ says you need to watch this girl. JJ watches and BG is singing My Kind of Crazy and they move so she can see the video screen and its pictures of her and BG while they were growing up and then some since they have been together. She is just amazed. BG looks around at that time and saw PJ had his phone and comes up to it and said i love you JJ and I brought you on tour every night with me. She's crying and said," I love you too cowboy and I know you have to work so I will talk to you later"

JJ settles in bed and is working on some new plays while waiting on BG to call. He calls and they talk until she falls asleep. BG smiles and knows that she is going to be surprised in a few days.
