Can't Forget

Chapter 57

JJ has just walked out of her locker room after going over the game plan with the girls. Tonight starts their first round of area tournament. She looks to the stands looking over tonight's crowd. She spies Ko in the stands but not BG. She is a little disappointed but she can't focus on him right now, she has a game to coach and from this point on its win or go home. She makes her way to the bench and thinks back to her phone conversation with BG.

BG: Baby I am trying to get there but the damn snow and ice have flights delayed so I am heading out in my truck, so it may take me longer to get to you but I'm heading your way.

Jj: Baby please be careful and if you can't make it, well its not because you don't want to be here. I know you do but I also know that you have to make sure that everything is set up for your tour that starts in a week. I love you and I will talk to you later cause I have some procedures to do.

BG: Well I ain't giving up yet darling so I may miss tipoff but I'm coming
JJ: I knew we were good together but I didn't know I was that good baby.

BG: laughing Oh you are in for it now Jennifer Justine.

JJ: Brantley Keith whatever do you mean?

BG growling said," you know exactly what I mean so don't be trying to play innocent with me. Now let me go so you can get back to work and I can get onto the road . I love you baby!"

JJ: I love you too baby!

JJ snaps back to the present and sees that she is at her bench and she has the official who propositioned her and that said things about her girls. JJ tells the other 2 officials that she would not play until they got another official there because he had been struck by her school and she would not start the game with him.

The official came over to her bench and said,"What's up sweetcheeks , why are you being such a bitch about this?"

JJ turns to the other officials and said," Do you hear that? Get him out of my gym before I turn someone loose on him. Y'all were told not to send him back and here he is so no we will not play until you get another official here, do i make myself clear?"

The other 2 officials told him to leave and apologized to JJ. They told them it would take about 30 minutes and let the other coach know. JJ is talking with her team reminding them of the game plan and as she is finishing up, BG comes in and walks by her bench headed to the bleachers where Ko was sitting. JJ grabs his hand and he stops and turns back around and she pulls him in for a hug and he kisses her on the forehead telling her to kickass. She smiles and tells him,"always cowboy"
BG shake his head and grins and makes his way to Ko. As he sits down Ko tells him that he needs to go wash the blood off his rings before JJ sees his knuckles cause she will ask questions.
BG told him,"thanks bro for keeping me informed he has no clue why I did it he thinks it was because he ran into me and kept running his mouth. I wanted to tell him exactly why but well I couldn't have it fall back on JJ. "

Ko laughed,"anytime brother but you have really great timing."
They see another official come in and now they can get on with the game. Oakley got tip off and they go down and she shoots and make a 3 point shot. They follow the game plan and come out winning the game by a big margin.

JJ tells them they have made it one step closer to their goal and they mark it off on the checklist of goals with the big one being a state championship. She tells them she is proud of them and would see them tomorrow to rest and be ready to do it again.

BG has been to the bathroom and washed his hands and rings trying to make sure all the blood was off. He met up with Ko outside the locker room where he congratulated him on being a cleaning ninja. BG told him he was an ass and wasn't sure why JJ kept him around for all these years.
JJ walked up and hugged BG and whispered in his ear,"thanks for taking up for me baby"
He pulled back and he raised an eyebrow questioning and she said,"Don't play innocent with me your rings were bloody when you walked in your knuckles were scraped and you were walking around preening like a proud peacock showing off his tail feathers."

Ko laughed as Oakley walked up and asked what was so funny and he told her what JJ just said. She responded,"You can't hide crap like that from her she picks up on everything."
BG said," well now yall tell me"

JJ said," Gilbert you haven't ever been able to hide shit like that so why are you trying now is beyond me."
Parents and people in the community are congratulating her and Oakley and JJ tells them she is tired and headed home. They all say goodnight and BG follows JJ home and tells her he has just a couple of hours before he has to leave. JJ whispers in his ear" then I guess we need to make the most of it. Do you know how sexy it is to see you walk in the door and know that you took up for me? I don't think you do but I am about to show you cowboy"
BG said," I'm all yours baby for the next 2 hours"

   JJ watches as his truck pulls out of her driveway saying a prayer that he is okay and makes it back to Nashville safely. He's leaving to start his tour and it kills her not being able to go with him. Only 4 months and they can travel together and only 6 weeks until she will walk down the aisle and marry him. JJ turns the lights off locks the door and heads to bed waiting on the call that he made it okay.
