BG looks over to his right and sees that JJ is asleep. He knows she hates the fact that they are gonna be separated the next few weeks till Christmas. She has 3 weeks at school and her schedule is packed with work and games. His schedule is packed with a radio tour and some meetings to set up the new tour starting in February. They will hit the ground running and he knows it's gonna be tough on both of them.
He thinks back to this past week going to bed and waking up with JJ, that was the best part of his day. They spent Friday together secluded from everyone and then Saturday they hosted a tailgate party at his house for rival Saturday. JJ seemed to glow being back home and in her element with all their old friends and family. He can hardly wait to let the band know that they are back together, well the ones who had been there when she was around before. They have added a few folks over the last 5 years. They pull into her driveway and he wakes her up. JJ smiles and tells him that she's sorry for falling asleep. He tells her not to worry about it cause she was up late last night and up early this morning.
JJ goes and unlocks her door and takes her bags in the house. She heads to her bedroom and changes her clothes cause she has to get to practice as soon as BG leaves heading to Nashville. BG walks up behind her and and he pulls her back into him. He tells her," we can do this JJ, yeah it's gonna be rough cause I'm gonna miss you like hell, I got so used to you being with me this past week. We have 3 weeks till we are both back home in Georgia."
"I know BG, it's just so hard knowing that I will be going to sleep alone and waking up alone after being with you all last week. Besides we are engaged and we know that we are forever" JJ tells him. She takes his hand and walks him to his truck and kisses him and he pulls her close running his hands down her face cupping her cheek. She runs her hands around his neck pulling him closer and she says," see ya later B"
BG pecks her lips and says," see ya later J"
With those words he climbed in his truck and shut the door giving her that sexy smirk and backed out. JJ stood waving as he pulled out of sight and then she let the tears fall. She got in her truck and headed to the gym working out before her girls came in for practice. She had music blaring as she was going through her drills and letting the repetition of the moves help her forget that her heart had just driven away. She stops to get some water and she sees her team watching her. She tells them," welcome back girls hope y'all had a good week cause we have a lot to work on and games to get ready for these next 3 weeks." They groan when she says that, and start warming up. It was a very intense practice and she pushed them hard getting them ready for tomorrow's game. Oakley told the team she was going to sign with UGA this week on Friday. JJ told them that they all needed to dress up for that cause they would take a team picture with Oakley that day. She told them good night and she would see them tomorrow.
Oakley said," Coach Jax can I ask you a question?"
"Sure Oakley what's on your mind?" JJ said
" Well when are you gonna tell everyone that you are engaged to BG?"
"Well I'm not exactly keeping it a secret but we are just kinda keeping it out of the news for right now. We want to be able to enjoy it and focus on us and me focus on my job and the team without any outside hoopla. Besides it's not like Ko didn't tell you. So what's up with you and him?"
" well we are friends and I talk to him about everything and maybe once I graduate he might see me as a girl and not a friend or little sister until then I guess we are friends"
" Oakley I know he sees you as a girl I think he's afraid of what I would say or your parents but if that is what you want then my advice is lay it out there, you never know how it will turn out, don't wait like I did."
Oakley grins and said," I will think about it"
They walk out and JJ heads home. As she walks in the door Ko calls her:
JJ : Hey bro what's up?
Ko: I'm coming to your game tomorrow and I was wondering can I crash at your place tomorrow night?
JJ: you know you can you don't have to ask that you are family
Ko : just making sure
JJ : She asked about you tonight
Ko: Sis I can't right now, you know that but I can be there for her in every other way.
JJ: I think you are being an idiot but I don't want to fight with you I am to tired.
Ko: see you tomorrow night love you JJ
JJ: Love you too Ko
JJ got in the shower and when she got out she checked her phone for a message from BG
BG: Hey baby girl I am on the bus who knows where and I had a minute between working and heading to eat and wanted you to know I love you!
JJ: Just out of the shower and I'm so tired from my workout but you are on my mind and I love you! I am sitting on my bed looking at my ring and I can't quit smiling. You make me happy!
BG: You make me happy and I'm glad that looking at that ring puts a smile on your face. Please dont be mad but I slipped up tonight and said something about you, so they know we are together. I just haven't told them we are engaged until you tell me I can.
JJ : I don't care if you tell them hell I don't care if we tell the world cause I love you, we will deal with the fallout when it comes.
BG: so that means I can go public with a post and tag you?
JJ: yes!!! Go ahead just use a good picture of me if you do.
BG: I know the exact one! Love you baby and thanks for saying yes!!
JJ: love you more and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you!!
