Sierra's pov

I signed in to the hospital again. "It's good to see you again, Mrs. Tilley." The receptionist, Rachel says, giving me a hug. I nod tiredly. "How was she last night?" "Slept most of the night but around two she woke up throwing up." I bite my lip, worried about my daughter, Miranda. She's seventeen with stage 4 cancer. "Sierra." Rachel says as I'm about to go back there. "Yeah?" "I think it's time to ask her what she wants as her final wish." I turn around confused. "Final wish?" "The make a wish foundation." My eyes go wide. "She's not gonna make it, is she?" I whimper, breaking down. She hugs me tight.

I was listening to music on my CD player. The night train album. I was listening to 1994 and whisper singing to it, feeling nauseous. The nurse walks in. "Do you need some help?" She asks when I lower the headphones to my neck. I shake my head. Mom walks in along with Rachel, the receptionist. They've gotten close since my stay here almost 10 months ago. "Miranda, what do you want most in the world?" Mom asks with fake cheerfulness. I glare at her. "To live, duh." "Other than that." She says. I stare at the ceiling. What do I want most in the world?

I was swinging on a swing. I jumped off, my long brunette hair flowing in the wind. The name floats into my mind. Jason.

Mom shook my shoulders. "You blanked out." She gasps worried. The last time I blanked out I fell into a coma for two weeks. I look down at my CD player. "Mom. I wannna meet him." I whisper, pointing.

Well this has been the worst day ever. Me and my girlfriend had a huge fight and broke up. Mike's not answering my calls even though we need to get a tour set up. Tully hurt his knee playing basketball so I don't know if I'll have a bassist. I walk in the studio. Mike was on the phone. "Why haven't you been answering my calls?" Now he's not answering in real life either?! "Hello?" "Wait a sec." He whispers. "Alright. I'll tell him. There's no problem. Don't worry. We'll try to be there as fast as possible." Finally he gets off the phone. "When are we going back on tour? It's late for our usual-" "The tour doesn't matter right now." What's he talking about?! "We've got more pressing matters." "Like?" I ask, crossing my arms. "Like a dying girl who's last wish is to meet you." I freeze. "What?" "A seventeen year old girl. Stage four cancer. She's got maybe a month if that." Oh man. I sit down. "Damn. Poor girl." "Yeah." "Where is it?" "A little town in Mississippi." "Well Mike. Let's go."

I was too weak to get up and ended up throwing up all over the floor. The nurse cleaned it up. "I'm sorry." I mumble, trying to stay conscious. "I'm so sorry." "Don't apologize." She says, gently touching my shoulder. "I want this to be over." I whisper. She gives me a sympathetic smile.

Me and Mike get to the hospital. There's a blonde girl at the desk talking to the receptionist. "That's her mom." Mike whispers, pointing. "Her? What's her name?" "Sierra." Man she's sure a beautiful girl. "Mike... Is it weird that I'm nervous?" I walk over before he can reply.

Someone taps my shoulder. I quickly wipe the tears and hear the woman at the door say welcome to st. Jude. To think my daughter is here kills me. I shakily turn around. My breath catches. Jason Aldean. "Wow... I... Hey. They didn't tell me you were coming so fast." "I just found out." "She's.... She was throwing up earlier so she's really sick right now. Just warning you."

Miranda's pov

"You've got visitors." The nurse says, opening the door. Visitors? I know my mom visits everyday but who is the other? The door opens. "Surprise!" Mama gasps. What's she- Holy cow! Jason walks in with a smile. I cover my mouth in shock. "How-" "The make a wish foundation." I sit up. "So that's why-" "Yeah." "It's great to finally meet you. I listen to your music during my treatments." "Well darlin', you're about to have the time of your life."
