Jason's pov

I was working on songwriting. So far, me and  Tully came up with something pretty great. "They're gonna love this at the studio." Theo poked his head in. "Dad, can me and Kev go to the skatepark?" "Did you ask your mother first and she said no and that's why you're asking me?" I ask turning around with a smirk on my face. "No." He says laughing. "Ok you can go but check on your little sister for me. Make sure she's not bothering your mother." "She's hanging out with Brian playing some kid game outside. Kim's watching her." "Oh. Good." He leaves. "Does your kids getting older bother you?" "A heck of a lot man." I say, turning back around and fanning myself with my hat.

Sierra's pov

I was working on a chapter for the novel I've been working on for a year and a half. It's a thriller. But I'm stuck. "Mama, can me and Brian have a popsicle?" "We don't have any." I say, staring at the screen frustrated. That little black line basically mocking me. "Well can we go get some?" "No. I'm trying to work." She skips away and I lay my head on my hands. "What can I do?" I hate writer's block.

Jason's pov

"Daddy can you take me to the store to get popsicles?" "Princess daddy's songwriting with Tully." I say. "Please! We're hot and tired and mom's too busy with her stupid book." She whines, grabbing my chair. "Her book's not stupid." Tully laughs slightly. I smirk and pick her up setting her in my lap. "Please?" "Maybe in a few hours honey. I've got to finish this for my album." "But you never cut your own songs?" She says, stealing my pencil and looking at the paper. Tully laughs at me. "She's got ya there, man." "Shut up, Tulls." I say, living him lightly. He laughs hysterically and I glare at him. "Jason!" He gasps pointing. I look back down and she was drawing pictures on the song!! "Dammit!" I gasp, grabbing the pencil. "What'd ya do that for?" "I dunno." "I'm going to finish this with Tully and you're going to behave." I snap annoyed. "B-But-" "And don't bother your mother. She's just as frustrated as I am about her writing." I point towards the door. "Just go play outside or something." I say, closing the door. "I can't wait til she's just a tiny bit older." Tully laughs. "Says the idiot who just says you hate to see the kids grow up." I nod and glare at the paper. "I'm pissed off right now, man." I say, erasing as much as I can.

Miranda's pov

Ugh. Stupid mom. Stupid dad. Brian left when dad started getting mad at me. I glance in Kim's room. She was on the phone. Before I even had the opportunity to ask for her to join me, she closed the door in my face. I glare at the door angry and upset. I wander the house. There was a big wooden door. I wonder where this leads to. I pull it open and see the room. There's a picture on the wall of a little red haired girl crying on the ground with a cut on her leg. There's a tiny door. "Whoa." I whisper, walking over. It's locked. "Dagnabit!" I mutter annoyed. I run back to mom and ask if she knows if there's any old keys in the house. "Miranda, I'm busy." She says. "But mom!" "No. I'm working." I grumble a few choice words under my breath and stomp off. "If I ever hear you use that word again, I will wash your mouth out with soap!" Oops. I didn't think she heard me. I dig through the drawers and find an old silver key. "Let's have some fun." I whisper.
