Kim's pov
I was on my way to Mrs. Nedsten's house for her jobs she needs me to do. She's like 80 something so she can't get around much. I glare at the ground in front of me as I walk. I can't believe I have to work for a phone! I knock on her door. "Mrs. Nedsten, it's me." I call. "Come on in sweetie." I hear her say. I open the door and the room was dark. "Why's the light off?" "The bulb went out and I can't do it." She says, on the verge of tears. I quickly walk over. Poor old Mrs. Nedsten. I hug her. "Dont worry ma'am, I can do it for you. That's what I'm here for." "I know you don't want to be here. You're just doing it to pay for your phone." "Sure I get money to pay for my phone but it's still fun here." She sighs. I wanna cheer her up. But how?
Jason's pov
Kim gets home from working with Mrs. Nedsten. "How was work?" I say smiling. "I feel so bad for her daddy. She's so sad and alone since her husband died." Aw. "Well I'm sure you being there is helping her alot." "Yeah, she was telling me alot of old stories. I'm glad I could keep her company." I smile. "Well hop in the shower. We're going out for dinner." I was about to go to the kitchen to get my keys when Kim said, "Wait dad." "What's up?" "Can Mrs. Nedsten go with us?" I stare at her surprised. "Really? Are you sure?" "Yeah! Her getting out of the house would help her big time. Come on daddy please!" I smile. "Sure honey go tell her and I'll tell Mom."
Kim's pov
I race back down the street and open the door. "Mrs. Nedsten!" She was watching wheel of Fortune. "Oh Kim you can call me Ally. That's my first name." I smile. "Ok Ally, do you wanna go out to dinner with me and my family?" Her eyes go wide in surprise. "What? You'd want an old bag like me out with you?" "Of course. I've had such a great time over here." I say hugging her. Alot more fun than I ever expected. He starts to cry. I hug her. "There There ma'am. It's alright. Let's get you ready to go."
Jason's pov
I open the door when Kim calls, "It's open." I am surprised to see Kimmy helping her get shoes on to go. The sweet old lady looked like she'd been crying. "Come on Ally. I've got you." "B-But I can't walk." She whimpers frightened. "It's alright. We've got a big ol truck. You'll be mighty comfortable." I'm so proud of my little girl.
*A few hours later*
"It was amazing seeing Kim that way today." Sierra says smiling and taking her earrings out. "I'm so proud of her. That woman was so happy tonight." She sits down on the bed and I hug her tight. "Girl I can't wait for her to get here." I say resting my hand on her stomach. "It's still crazy to think about." She mumbles, biting her lip. "Just count your blessings, Si. She's coming home to us." I say hugging her. We both go to sleep.
*In his dream*
The lights flash on and I realize I'm in a hospital corridor. I follow it confused. "Hello?" Silence. Suddenly Sierra walks out of a door wearing a hospital gown. "Jason?" She says blinking. "Baby!" I gasp rushing over to her. "Why are you... Wearing a hospital gown?!" I say feeling for any injuries. I feel something that makes my stomach drop. Her stomach. It isn't as big as it used to be. "Babe... Did you miscarry?" "I did?!" She screams. "I don't... I don't know." I shakily say. I hear someone call my name. We walk down that way. Me holding tight to my girl. I was caught off guard, seeing the baby nursery. At least a dozen sleeping babies. There was a nurse in there. She looked a little young to be a nurse. She picked up a sleeping redheaded little girl then turned around. My breath caught. "Miranda!" Sierra shouts, reaching for her, hitting the glass window. Our daughter smiles and walks right through it. "Hey Mom, hey Dad." She says, cradling the baby. My part nearly stops. The baby isn't breathing. She hands her to me. "I can't wait to be born again." She says, a hand on the baby's head. Suddenly she vanishes, making me jump. Sierra calls for her and starts crying. The little girl in my arms, turns her head and moves her hand. Not dead. I think this is our baby. "We can't wait to angel." I shakily whisper hugging Sierra. "Say hello to our daughter, Miranda." She smiles with tears in her eyes. "I love you so much."
*He wakes up*
I jolt awake breathing heavily, my heart racing and missing holding our baby. Sierra screams my name and wakes up too. We stare at each other shocked and she feels her stomach. "Jason... I... The hospital." I tense up. "Wait... You had the same dream?" "Miranda went into that baby." She whispers. I stare at her shocked then put a hand on her stomach. "I can't wait for her to be born." "Me too." She whispers more tears rolling down her face. "I'm gonna have my baby back." I smile and hug her tight. "We're gonna have our baby girl back." "Oh Jason!" She gasps happily. I kiss her. "I love you baby." "I love you so much!"
