Jason's pov

I'm taking Sierra out on a date. I think I love her and I think she loves me. We go to dinner. "Jason this has been the best three weeks I've ever had. Thank you for everything." "You don't need to thank me Sierra." After dinner, we were walking to my truck. I think I'm gonna tell her. "Sierra, I love you and I want you to stay with me in Nashville." I say, holding her hands. "B-But what about M-Miranda?" "Of course she can come too. I'm staying down here until she's better anyway." Her eyes go wide. "Oh Jason, I thought you knew.... She's.... She's not gonna get better." My eyes go wide. "But.... She's getting better. She's stronger now. She might pull through." "She won't. She can't. The treatments don't work." I hug Sierra when she bursts into tears. "I'm gonna lose my only daughter!" I can't believe it. There's really nothing we can do?? I thought she was getting better. She whispers my name. "Yeah?" "Kiss me." That sure caught me off guard. But I've wanted to all night.

*later*

"This is the first time in 17 years that I've been intimate with a man." "Why?" "No one wanted to date a woman with a kid." I stare at the ceiling shocked, my arm wrapped around her waist. "Ya just weren't lookin' in the right places darlin'. Cause... Cause I do." She looks at me with tears in her eyes and I pull her into a soft kiss.

*the next day*

We get to the hospital and everyone is running ragged and the secretary is on the phone. "I wonder what happened here." Sierra mumbles. I hold her close to me. An officer stops us. "You can't go back there." My eyes go wide. "What do ya mean we can't go back there?!?! That's our daughter!" I shout grabbing his shirt. "It's a crime scene." He says, looking sad. "Crime scene? How? Where is-" "She was kidnapped last night. I don't know how and I don't know when but she was gone this morning." Sierra screams. I shakily back up and grab her hand. We run to my truck. "Why would someone kidnap a girl riddled with cancer?!!" Fury fills me as I rip out of the parking lot. I know exactly why. I slam on the gas, gripping the wheel tight. "Cause she can't fight back."
