Jason's pov
I was unpacking some boxes downstairs in the basement while Sierra was unpacking bedroom stuff when I heard a loud scream. Instantly, I raced upstairs to my girl! When I got to the doorway, Theo was already there trying to see what was the matter. "What happened hun?" U gasp, kneeling beside her. She was shaking and crying on her knees. "I... I'm sorry." She shakily says, grabbing my arm and trying to stand up. "Babe what happened?" "I... I f-found something. I.... It was... Hard to see." I give a look meaning leave the room and Theo walks out and closes the door. She unfolds a yellowed piece of paper. I take it from her and shock fills me. The letter Miranda wrote me before she died. "Whoa." I whisper. "Sorry I screamed and scared you." "It's not something you have to apologize for." I say hugging her tight. "I'm okay." She mumbles sitting on the bed. I wish I knew how to help her. I head back downstairs and of course Theo asked what was wrong. "She just found an old letter from someone who died that we knew." "Who?" That question stops me in my tracks. What do I say? "I..... Uh.... Just a c-close family friend." "Did me and Kim ever meet him or her?" I scratch my head, thinking, not wanting to lie. I sigh. "She died before you two were born." "Oh." I wonder if I should tell the twins about Miranda. "Son, do you believe in something called reincarnation?" He shrugs. "Never really thought about it." "Well I... Me and your mom have a secret we've been hiding from the both of you." "What is it dad?" "You have an older sister who passed away." The shock on his face almost makes me laugh. If it wasn't such a serious topic, I probably would have. "What?!" He gapes. "Well she died of cancer when she was a teen." "Why didn't you ever tell us?" "Well cause she came back." Now he's confused. "Your little sister is your big sister reincarnated." "You're lying." "No I'm not! Why would I lie about something like this." "You're crazy." He mutters, stomping upstairs. "Well.... That could have gone better." I say worried, jogging after him.
