Jason's pov
"I can't believe she killed somebody." Sierra whispers, laying beside me. I nod, a little freaked out by it too. She won't talk much about what happened. Just that the person who took her pretended to be her mom. "Let's stop thinking about it. She's back safe and sound." I say hugging my angel. "I was so scared." She whispers into my shoulder. Suddenly we hear a loud scream that makes me jump outta my skin. We quickly run to Miranda's room, worried. She was having a nightmare. Probably about the bitch who took her. We woke her up and she was crying. "They wanted to take my eyes." She whimpers, terrifying me. "In your dream?" Sierra asks worried. "Y-Yeah but the other lady did too." Shit. "You're okay now Miranda. She can't touch you again." The poor little 8 year old was shaking in her mother's arms. I notice her book, To Kill A Mockingbird, was lying on the table by her bed. I picked it up and sat down. "Ya want me to read to you?" She nods, still curled up in Sierra's lap. After a few chapters, she falls back to sleep. We go back to our room. "I really wish she wasn't a fan of that book. It just brings back bad memories for me." Sierra says, rubbing her arms, nervous. I hug her. "Our little girl is gonna be okay, baby." I say. She forces a worried smile. "I love you, Jay." "I love you too, sweetheart." I say, kissing her nose. She laughs slightly. "Well let's head to bed before Little Bit wakes back up. We promised to take her to the zoo." She laughs. "I don't know why! She hates to see the animals trapped in cages." "That's our quirky little girl." I say, gladly.
