Jason's pov

I get home from the studio and Theo was watching TV, Kim was looking in a handheld mirror while brushing her hair and Sierra was on her laptop, I wonder what she's doing. Kim runs over and asks, "Can I have a cellphone?" I stare at her surprised. I look at Sierra who looks just as surprised. "You're too young for a phone." She says. I smile and pat her head. "Way too young." "But daaaad! EVERYONE at school has a phone!" She gasps dramatically. I force myself not to laugh. "Please please please oh please daddy!" "Kimmy you're too young for a cell phone, you're only eleven years old. Back in my day, kids your age worried about school crushes, homework and-" My eyes go wide. I sit on the couch beside Sierra. "Jase what's wrong?" "I'm turning into my father." I say laying back against the couch. "Help me out Si." I say. She laughs and pats my head. "You're not getting a phone. End of discussion." Sierra says. "Now go do your homework. Both of you." She says smirking at me.  I glare at her with a smile. "Kids havin' cell phones, man I didn't have a cell phone til I was here in Nashville." "Jay they weren't a thing when we were kids." She says laughing. "Girl I hate the technological era." She just smiles. "What?" I ask confused. "Why're you starin' at me like that?" "Nothing you cutie." I roll my eyes. "Ya know it's true, babe. I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots." "Albert Einstein, really Jason?" I bust out laughing as she rolls her eyes. "Love you babe." I say kissing her. "Love you too, crazy." I stand up. "Crazy guy." I say pointing to myself. "Livin' in a crazytown." She just laughs.

*The next day*

The kids get home from school. I worriedly stand up when Kim walks in crying. "What's wrong, Kimmy? What boy do I have to beat the tar out of?" "All the girls at school are making fun a me cause I don't have a phone!" Ugh. More about this phone shit? "Drama queen." Theo mutters walking passed and to the kitchen. Sierra gives me the dreaded puppy dog eyes. My arms fall to my sides jaw dropped. "No way." I say, pointing at her. "What harm could it do?" She gasps. Ugh. "No. They're kids. They should be outside playing. Climbing trees, running through the woods. If they get a phone. That's all she'll be doing! Not to mention the only reason she wants a phone is to impress some snobby bullies." She smiles with that I've got an idea smile. "Ok Kim we'll make a compromise." I stare at her nervous. "We'll get you a phone but you have to come up with the money to pay for it." Her jaw drops. Man my wife's smart as fuck. "But mom!!! How am I gonna do that?!" "Get a summer job. I mowed lawns for extra cash." I say. "I know Mrs. Nedsten needs someone to help her with chores around the house." Sierra says. "Such a sweet old lady." I smile. I love my crazy family. "Fine. I'll go talk to her." "Hard work really makes the man, Kim. Or in this case the woman." I say as she walks to the door. "Yeah yeah. Whatever." She mutters. I smile and sling an arm around Sierra's shoulders. "God you're a genius baby." I say kissing her. "I learn from the best, Jay." I smile at her. "I love you." I say kissing her again.
