Miranda's pov
Johnny walks back in the room, confidence in his step... And.... A tux? I'm so confused. Dad walks in with a beautiful purple dress. "What's going on?" Johnny walks to the bed. "Will you go to prom with me?" I stare at him confused shocked. Mom helps me get dressed, still weak. We walk downstairs where dad and Johnny wait. I shakily walk over. He takes hold of my hands and music plays. I'm actually going to prom! I lose my balance and completely embarass myself by falling into him. He smiles and holds me up. He's not as weak as me since he just got diagnosed. He kisses my forehead. Wow! My legs feel like jello right now. And not from the cancer.

"You looked beautiful out there." Dad says. I'm so tired now but it was worth it. "I can tell ya like him." He says, smiling. I smile too. "I don't like him." "Yes you-" "I love him." He smiles. "Goodnight princess."

Jason's pov
Me and Sierra were eating lunch in the cafeteria. "She said she loves that boy." "At least she has a little happiness before-" I hug her. "Oh God I can't take it. I can't lose my little girl." I won't ever tell her but I cried last night.
Miranda's pov
I woke up out of a deep sleep to hear a beeping. Johnny was struggling to breathe! I run to the bed and helped sit him up but it didn't help. I screamed for a nurse. I guess I was wrong about him and when he was diagnosed. I start sobbing hysterically while screaming for a nurse. "Hey. It's okay. I had the best night of my life last night. With you. Thanks for making my last days the best." He whispers. He stares at me. "You are a beautiful girl." I don't think so. But I don't say anything. He chokes a little more and dies. I cry hard and kiss him. "Goodbye Johnny." Seconds later, a nurse walks in, followed by my parents. Dad grabs my shoulders. I slam into him and sob. "He's gone. He's gone!" He holds me tight as I cry and I can hear them wheel the bed out.

Jason's pov
I can't believe she had to see that. "Is... Is that gonna happen to me?" "Don't think about it, princess." "I can't. It's all I can think about." Sierra went to pick her out a cat. One of those ones trained to help her. I suggested a dog but she's allergic to dogs. Sierra walks back in with the cat. "Miranda." She looks up. "Whoa!" She smiles and sets her down on the bed. "Her name's Fox." "She's beautiful." Sierra sits beside me. I hug her. "I love you Sierra." "I love you too." She whispers.
