“Oh” I say. I wonder where he is going with this. I hope he was being real. Not faking holding hands or our laughs. I stare straight into his clear blue eyes. His eyes are like an ocean, so clear. I can see straight into his beautiful blue eyes.

“Yeah…” He stops my train of thought. He smiles a half smile. Hopefully, it’s good news. News?  Is it news? I don’t know…

“I…Um… Saw you in school the other week” Well that’s explainable. I saw him too. Well I stared at him, but whatever. “And you were with your friend?” Tammy “And I heard you talk about me…” Oh no.

I talk about Luke 95% of my life, so that’s kind of understandable too. However, what did I say? I don’t remember.

“Um, you said… That you really liked me?” He is staring straight at me, my eyes are staring straight at him.

“And… I kind of, well, like you a lot too” ASDFGHJKL MY HEART! “And, yeah, that’s why I asked you out. I like you, you like me” He blinks. He bites his lip. So hot.

“So? Do you, um, have anything to say?” He looks at me, waiting.

“Um” I think. I have never been good with saying the right thing. Ever. I try and think of something to say “I really do like you” I say. My cheeks are starting to blush and I suddenly feel nervous.

“Like a real lot” I look down at my feet. My converses have some mud on them. I will have to clean them when I get home. Anyway, what was I saying-?

“I do too” Yet again Luke stops my train of thought. He also glances at his feet. This is awkward.

He looks back up at me and smiles. I love his smile. It melts my heart. I love him, but how can I tell him? He might think I’m weird, which admittedly, I am, but I don’t want him to know that.

“Um, Charley?” I look at Luke “Do you like me as much as I like you?”

“Yes” I respond “I really do”

“Good” He says “So what would you think bout this-?”

He leans towards me and his hand touches my cheek.

My hands and his entwine.

His face becomes close to mine.

Then…

We kiss...
