"Luke! Luke, can you hear me bro?" Ashton asked, almost jumping to his side. The nurse ran out to go get more doctors. I ran up to his bedside and held his hand. Michael stood at the side of me, nervously tapping his foot. The nurse and three doctors ran in and ushered us to stand back. They started sprouting numbers at each other. I just stared at Luke's face. It was pale, but then again the pure australian wasnt know for having a tan.
"Did he move?!" Ashton eegerly shouted at the nurse and doctors, who ignored him and continued sprouting numbers. I felt Luke weakly squeeze my hand and i squeezed back. I needed him to live myself. I smiled and him, and tears fell freely from my eyes, which were now sore, from bothe crying and pure eaustion.
"Nurse, will you bring Mr. Hemmings a Oxygen Mask.3 please?" Asked the doctor, and the nurse ran out of the room to fetch a mask.
"What does he need that thing for?" Asked Michael, who had stopped tapping his foot now. He looked like he hadn't slept in about two weeks. His eyes were a sore colour of red.
"If he can talk" The doctor started "Which we are hoping he can, he will have to use a lot of oxygen, and we just need to give him that extra bit of help" He said, not looking Michael in the eye.
"Here" The nurse said, out of breath, after running back into the room. Luke's eyelashes fluttered up and down but he didn't open them. He had stopped squeezing my hand now, and looked very weak. The doctor put the mask on Luke, hooked him up to a machine, and wrote down several more numbers, before leaving the room, leaaving the door open.
"Nurse, I will just be one moment" said the other doctor, as the third doctor continued writing down numbers on a clipboard. The nurse nodded, and started mumbling something about "get paid for slacking off".
Ashton put a hand to his messy, curly hair, held together by a red bandana. Michael bit his nails, obviously nervous. And I just stood in complete silence, praying my baby blue eyed sweetheart would just wake up and open his eyes to show off his beautiful blue eyes. But all I got was a squeeze of assurance. Or it could be a squeeze to say goodbye? I had to stop, I had started to tear up again.
Lukes eyes started to flutter, like the butterflies in my stomach. I needed him to wake up. A dash of weakly covered blue came to sight, and seemed to focus on the cieling.
"Luke! Luke, bro can you hear us?!" Ashton pratically shouted.
"You're gonna have to leave until we have him stabalized" The doctor stated, ushering us out.
"What? You can't be serious.. Dude, that's her boyfriend" Ashton said, frustrated, pointing to me. The doctor just shook his head.
"Ash, it's okay" I said pulling Ashton's arm gently to leave the room. He hesitated at first, before reluctanly giving in and following me and Michael out of the room. Once we got out, Ashton's 6-foot frame almost collapsed into me, hugging me tightly. He leant over me and, as I started to cry, didn't let go. We must have been like that for about ten nminutes, with Michael pacing nervously around the outside of the entrance.
