“That pizza was great” Michael said, as we walked out of the glass door. Michael was right, the pizza was great, but I had had better. Michael held the door for me, and I held it for Ashton, who was behind us. The door closed slowely behind us.

We strolled along a sidewalk, past a few gift shops, and a chinese takeaway place. Across from the road was my favourite food place; Smith’s Fish and Chips. My uncle’s friend owned it, and they did a mean spam butty.

“What do you wanna do now?” Ashton breaking the small silence we had going. He turned to face Michael rather than me, assuming I would be staying with them, which, as I had nothing on this aftertoon, I probably was.

“Uh, I dunno, Charles?” Michael answered, then turning to face me. I was surprised he called me Charles. Usually I only got called that by my family. Ashton looked at me too.

“Um, well, I have nothing planned so, uh, whatever” I stammered. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure why Ash and Michael wanted to hang around with me when Luke wasn’t around.

“Ok, cool. Now, what should we do?” Ash asked, although I think it was  a retorical question that he only wanted himself to answer.  Ashton put a hand through his styled hair. He moved the bandana and left it alone. “We could go, uh… To mine for a XBOX ONE marathon” Ash thought for a second “Sorry, I didn’t think for you Charley, maybe we could-“

“No, it’s fine” I interupted “I like video games” I thought they were ok. I had an XBOX 360 at home, but that was mostly used as a DVD player.  I had three games for it; Lego MARVEL Superheroes, Sims 3 (Of which me and Luke were married with three kids: Ali, Louis and Sam) and FIFA 14, well that was Luke’s he left over the other day.

“Um, okay, we’ll stop by ASDA to get some drinks and snacks and shit” Ashton gestured to the road leading on to the supermarket. We followed him, chatting about numerous things really. Like Luke’s bad habits, what snacks to get at ASDA and what video games I liked.

We got to ASDA and bought tons of food. You wouldn’t have thought we had just had a large pizza each. We were packing up when Michael stopped for a second.

“Why don’t we invite Calum?” Michael asked “I’ll ring him” I held my breathe. I couldn’t handle a whole afternoon with Calum. Michael reached for his phone but Ashton stopped him.

“I think he’s at work” Ashton said. Michael just nodded, leaving his phone in his pocket. I let out a sigh, not too loud that the guys would hear me. Thank got he wasn’t going to come along.

I don’t think I could handle the awkwardness.
