“Oh HEY SWEETY!” My mum shouts “And who’s this?”
“Um, this is Luke mum, we’re kinda um-“ I say
“We’re dating” Luke says, with a cheeky grin.
I give him a nudge in his side, he just laughs.
“Oh…” My mum says “YOUNG LOVE!” She says, well shouts. “You MUST come in!” Oh dear God…
“Yeah, cool” Luke says, smiling.
My mum steps back and lets us come in, locking the door behind us. She locks the door.
“So Luke, wanna cuppa?” Mum says.
“Um, well I gotta go at 9:30, but ill just text my mum, she’ll be cool, so yeah, please” Luke says, all chilled out.
“Ok, but don’t you be getting into trouble”
“I won’t” He says and he slips out his phone from his back pocket and starts to text his mum.
“I’ll go make that cuppa then” Mum says, smiling at me and then leaving the room to go to the kitchen.
I sigh, then look at Luke, he’s still texting his mum.
“What she say?” I ask, being noisy
“She says it’s cool, but be back for 10:30, latest” He responds
“Ok” I say, quietly
“It’s ready!” My mum calls, from the kitchen. She appears in the doorway, gesturing for us to come into the kitchen. We do and Luke waits for me to go through first. What a gentleman, aw.
We both take a seat near my table and mum does too.
“So, Luke is it?” Obviously
“Yeah, Charley’s mum” Luke says, aw so cute
“Oh! Call me Janice” Mum says
“Oh cool, Janice” Luke says, while grinning at me.
“Oh, God” I mutter under my breath.
Luke and my Mum keep talking for about 30 minutes, while I just sit there, being awkward.
I look at the clock on our wall.
09:45pm
Okay
“Mum can me and Luke chill in my room, maybe watch a film or something?”
“Sure, but no kissing!” She and Luke laugh. I do not.
