Christmas was pretty shit without Luke. He bought me three really awesome gifts. He got me: a mayday parade shirt, a pair of red vans and two tickets for Mayday Parade. He texted me saying Merry Xmas xxx, even though we saw each other a few hours earlier. I texted him saying same to him, and that was it. My mum invited my aunties and uncles round for tea and that was it. My mum got me a new phone, which was brilliant, and some band merchandise, including a poster (One Direction), a jumper (All time low) and a beanie (Emblem3). It was cool.

The rest of the day was boring and I just wanted to be with Luke. I put one of his jumpers on, a thick blue one, and laid around watching TV in my room. I tried to avoid any social interaction.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked outside. It had snowed thick layers of thick snow. I looked at my old phone and there was 3 texts and a missed call, well two missed calls, all but one from Luke. I checked them.

Hey babe how r u xxx

Might be late getting back babe xxx

Babe call me ASAP xxx

1 missed call (From Luke x)

I rang him straight away and his beautiful, raspy voice echoed into the other end of the line.

“Uh, hello?” Luke echoed.

“Hi Luke” I said, and I smiled. Just hearing his voice made me feel 10 times better.

“Oh, Charley, uh, hey, yeah, uh, hey” Luke stuttered “I,uh, have been having some trouble getting home, because of the snow-have you seen it? It’s pretty bad-and I don’t think I can get back until, like, uh, maybe, uh, tomorrow?” Luke sighed. I sighed, too. I would miss him so much.

“Oh” Was all I could manage.

“Yeah, sorry, uh, I’ll have to call you back-no mum it’s just Charley, I’ll be two seconds-I, uh, have to go, babe, sorry. Love you” He said, and I sighed again. Him being gone was bad enough. But hardly being able to speak to him? That was horrendous.

“Ok bye love you too-“ I was cut off by the beep, to signal of the end of the call. I breathed loud, and then decided to check the other missed call.

Unknown Number

Usually I just ignored them, because most of the time they were just ‘cold calls’. However, this time I decided to call the number back.

“Hello?” Calum’s voice echoed. I sighed, quietly.

“It’s Charley” I said, obviously “What did you ring me for?” I asked, sounding more stubborn than I meant to be. He took a moment to reply.

“I need to talk, do you like coffee?” He asked, sounding quiet calm.

“Why?” I asked.

“To meet up” He said “We need to talk about the other night” He put a slight edge onto the word ‘need’.

“Fine and to your question, yes” I responded “Yes, I do like coffee” I sounded quite serious.

“Ok, I’ll meet you at the corner Café on Walls Street in, uh, like, 20 minutes?” He asked.

“Sure” I said. I wasn’t going to make a fuss for Calum, just a jumper, Luke’s, and some joggers, with a hoodie, and some old converses. I did my hair, just brushing it, and flung an old beanie on, which I think was Luke’s. I grabbed my old phone, my new one hadn’t been activated yet. I picked my wallet-like-purse and head out of the door, locking it as I left.
