I woke up at around 8, everyone else was awake, and I sat there, drooling, as everyone was getting ready to leave. I got up and threw Luke’s beanie on, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind. I picked up the blanket and pillows, threw them back onto the mountain, and went into the room, where I assumed would be where everyone else would be. They were, all except Calum.

“Where’s Cal?” I asked, not being arsed with saying morning, or Christmas.

“Merry Christmas!” Luke, Ash and Michael said, practically in sync. I rolled my eyes.

“You too” I replied.

“Cal had to go early” Luke said, finally answering my question “Said he had to rush home, that his family had to go out for dinner, or something” Luke looked at Ash, who looked at Michael.

“What’s up?” I said, curious of their looks.

“It don’t matter, let’s go, babe” Luke said, picking up my coat.

We walked out, hand in hand, and it wasn’t just the weather that was frosty. We didn’t speak the whole way there. He did seem happy and smiling, he laughed at jokes I did not hear, or understand. He had his coat on and had an old beanie, with extremely messy, yet extremely adorable hair. It was fluffy and was all over his forehead.

We reached my house and Luke enveloped me into a hug, and I dug my face into his cold shoulder. He was wearing an oversized jumper; I had a similar one of his that I wore when I was cold. We didn’t say anything, just hugged. It was nice.

“I’ll see you tomorrow” Luke said, while we were still in a hug. Luke’s broad shoulders were very protective and I felt safe, in his arms. I could stay forever, but I could feel him pulling apart from me.

“I’ll miss you” He said, moving a hair from my eyes. He kissed my forehead, and I swear a tear touched my head. I ignored it, just praising the fact that I was in his presence. We hugged again, less protective this time. More like a friendly hug or a goodbye hug, not an ‘in-love’ hug. I took it though; it was nice not to have to leave him. However, I knew in seconds he would be heading down the street, alone.

“I got to go, babe” He kissed me, on the lips, then whispered goodbye again.

“Ok, bye babe, I-I love you, I’ll miss you, Luke” I said, whispering.

He pulled apart from me then smiled, and walked away, turning back to me, and winking. I headed to my house and unlocked the front door. Luke was already out of sight now, and I already missed him. I strolled inside, ignoring the blasting music from the kitchen and sneaked upstairs.

“How was Tammy?!” My mum shouted, making me halt.

“What?” I said, confused “Oh uh, she’s good, yeah, she, uh, said hi” I stuttered, biting my lip.

“Oh good, Merry Christmas, darling!” She echoed back.

“Merry Christmas” I said, back .
