“C’mon I easily bet you” Michael moaned towards Ashton. Ashton slapped Michael’s back, making Michael flinch. Michael scowled at Ashton, who was laughing.

“Mate, you camped your ass off” Ashton whined back, imitating Michael’s voice “And anyway I had a better kill to death ratio” Ashton placed the controller on the cabinet, which had Ash’s XBOX ONE in.

“Yes, but I had a better end score and my team won” Michael said, putting emphasise on the few words. Ashton just shook his head, with a mix of laughter and smiles.

“Wanna game?” Michael asked, gesturing me to grab a controller.

“I’m really bad” I sighed.

“So is Michael” Ashton laughed, while Michael furrowed his eyebrows at him.

Anyway” Michael emphasised “Charley do you? Like wanna game?” Michael smiled.

“Um ok the-“ I was intetupted by my phone’s ring tone. I smiled waving at my phone to gesture that I was excusing myself. Ash and Michael nodded almost simutaniously. I left the room and entered what I thought was the kitchen.I stood up and slipped the phone out of my pocket to answer it.

“Hello?” An echoing voice spoke down the line. It was a boy, but the connection was that bad, I could hardly tell who it was. The line was really bad quality, and I could hardly hear down it.

“Um, hello?” I asked, trying not to sound too confused. It could have been Luke, or anyone, I really couldn’t tell.

“Hi!” The voice practically shouted, causing me to flinch “This is Luke? Sorry the connection is really bad. Anyway, I am on my way back-No mum I’ll be two minutes!-Anyway, I’ll be back for, uh, about, 6 or 7, maybe 8 at the latest, wanna hang out afterward?” Luke’s voice sounded raspy, like he had just been woken up after a nap in the car.

Before I could answer the line lost connection.

But the call I had seconds later didn’t.
