We walk for a while, but Luke says nothing, and so do I. He occasionally nods and fakes a smile at me, but I can tell he is hurt. After about 10 minutes of more walking, I realise we are going ice-skating. I am excited, but so damn tired. To be honest, Luke looks more unhappy than when we began walking.

“Here we are!” He says, faking a grin, and pretending to be excited. Luke has bad posture, and is almost crying.

“Look, Luke” I say “There’s obviously something up” I say, without looking up from the floor. It isn’t raining anymore.

“Nothing’s wrong” He says, with his voice cracked “I-I just” He stammers, then sighs.

“What Luke?” I say, stubbornly. I cross my arms and look into his eyes. He has red marks around them.

“Does it really matter, Babe, can’t we j-just go skating?” He asks, but I’m not giving in. I matter, Babe, can’t we j-just go skating?” He asks, but I am not giving in. I just shake my head and Luke sighs, than looks down, at his feet.

“Promise you won’t get mad?” He asks.

“I am not making any promises, Luke” I respond and he repeats his sigh.

“Well, you might have been able to tell that me and Tilly-No Tammy-were being slightly, um, awkward with-with each other? Well…” He bites his lip and sighs yet again.

“What?” I say, being impatient. I need to know “Well, what?”

“Well, there was a reason for that…” He says, and just as he says that it starts raining, I jinxed it. Luke puts a hand to his hair and messes with his quiff. He’s nervous. “We-well, remember when I said that I knew you liked me, and I liked-no like- you? Well, that’s not entirely true… Tammy, kind of made me ask you out…” He looks away then mumbles “shit…” to himself.

“What?!” I say, I am shocked.
