Drabble Nine - Hungry, Hungry Boy

~Sang~

"Sang?" I put down my book to look at Gabriel. His hand was stretched out like he was reaching for something, the other curled around his stomach as he writhed in pain.

"Yes, Meanie dearest?"

"I'm hungry." The other guys let out grunts of conformation. Ugh, boys had big appetites.

"How hungry?"

"Very."

"Meanie, this is important. It's basically life and death. How hungry?"

"I'm as hungry as the Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar." A muffled sob was let out from behind them and the banging of the door was followed by Dr. Green's despairing cry.

"Too soon! Too soon!" We all stared in our own strange thoughts until I looked back to them.

"That's very hungry." I stated. He nodded.

"I know. I'm a very hungry guy." My book sat longingly beside me. We had a moment, where in a movie there'd be said needy, depressing music and a close up of both of us.

"Stop having a moment with a book, Aggele Mou."

"It was a good moment, Silas."

"Princess, it's a book." Victor interjected. I glared.

"And the moment would have been wonderful. Heartfelt. Well portrayed. Most would be moved to tears," I told them. They needed to know they'd ruined my moment with my book.

"Trouble?"

"Gabriel."

"I'm dying of hunger. Starving. I'm going to explode. Literally."

"I'd better make something, then."

"You'd better."

"Taco soup?"

"Grilled cheese," Kota requested. I looked at him.

"Why?"

"I need not explain myself. My mere presence pushes most to utter exuberance. You won't say no."

"Now be gone, foul wench and bring us sustenance," Nathan called in a decreeing manner.

"That's Sang we're talking about!" North shouted, slapping him around the head.

"Don't be sexist," Mr. Blackbourne said sharply, then turned back to his laptop.

Dr. Green came in with puffy, red eyes and sniffled.

"I think I'm okay now," he said.

"Good," I said as I passed to go make some food for the Hungry, Hungry Boy.
