~Cameron The Caterpillar~

Cameron stared for a moment into the depths of the water. He had children. He had, granted an unfaithful one, a wife. He had a life. Or what would pass as one.

So why was he here? Why was he so tempted to end it all?

Because of one man, because of Sean.

A tsunami of emotions hit into him and he shut his eyes tightly, trying to block them out. But then again, wasn't that what he wanted? For it all to stop, to go away? Yes, that was what he wanted. He was almost certain. Almost. Why was he so confused? A few moments ago it had been so clear...

Do it. Do it now. One step, one step is all it takes. Nobody's coming for you. Sean isn't coming for you. Now. Go on. Stop being weak, do it. NOW!

Cameron's mind screamed abuse at him and he took a deep breath, the last one he would ever take and stepped forward.

But instead of the cool water, he felt warmth, softness. Skin. A calming scent- Sean's scent. But no, no, it couldn't be.

Yet when he turned around, there he was, his Sean, staring at him.

"Cam?" Sean asked. Cameron knew that Sean could never understand his language, so he used the one they shared. He flew onto Sean's thumb, his sign for 'yes'. Sean grinned.

"You b*stard, Cameron. Never do that again."

He flew up and landed again on his thumb.

"Let's get you home. I bought you a new butterfly vivarium, did I mention it. No? Well, it's great. It has all these potted plants in there, all-year flowering flowers, And it is massive. You'll love it. I know you will, it's just fantastic. Cost quite a bit, too, but for you I'll spend, Cam." Sean continued his chattering and Cameron smiled his butterfly smile.

All was right in the world.
