The TV light flickered behind my eyelids, but I kept them clenched shut. I couldn't handle what they were showing. It was insane. The fifth day. First a few signs of a new disease spreading.

Then it got faster. And faster. People started to run, to kill, to do anything that they could with their new consequence free world. Me? I kept myself locked up in the house.

"The virus seems to be spreading at a severely high pace. The diseased show high signs of aggression and..." The news reader's voice was high and alarmed. What could be worse than what she had said? A plague spreading through America, sending it spiraling into chaos.

Riots, fires, murders, lootings.

"And the contaminated have proven to be... Cannibalistic."

The breath caught in my throat and my eyelids snapped open. Cannibalistic?

The woman looked drastically pale, hair a mess and her eyes were twitching. She looked horrified. One hand pressed against an earpiece and she seemed to be coming close to throwing up. I didn't blame her. I was too.

"Numerous accounts of murders are coming in, over five accounts of bodies being found mutilated, as if partially eaten."

I swallowed the lump in my throat. The shadows of the room seemed to corner me, turning into the shapes of infected, but I kept my eyes tight on the screen.

"Authorities urge you to leave the city if you have safe transportation, if not," the woman's voice grew quieter, "if not, lock yourselves up in your homes. Don't allow anyone inside, no matter whether family or friends. Contamination is at a high risk."
