~Sang~
"Get her finger the f*ck out of your mouth," Nathan growled at him. Calm down, Honey, calm down! I pleaded in my head. He looked furious.
"Hit a nerve, have I?" The Doctor said past my finger. I got the vague feeling that he was enjoying irritating him. The other guys just stood there, looking back and forth.
I ended it before it got too bad, taking my finger back from the Doctor. Nathan shot me a grateful look and then a glare at my new friend. The Doctor, his hands still on my shoulders just smiled back, acting all the world as if they were best friends.
"Uh, should we go inside?" I asked quietly, wanting to diffuse the tension before fists started flying. I had the inkling that they would be coming mostly from North, who honestly looked like he would turn The Doctor to dust with his eyes.
Mr. Blackbourne nodded, taking charge, making all the guys go in. Each of them stopped and placed a kiss on my cheek as they walked by into the kitchen.
"Aren't we the popular one?" The Doctor asked with a smile. I blushed.
"Shut up," I muttered. He continued.
"Those looked a little more than friendly, Sang. In fact, I'd say tall, dark and scary's in love with you. If not all of them. Can't blame them, though, you're beautiful. Kind. Sweet. Slightly naive from the way you're so oblivious."
I'd frozen and zoned out at 'in love with you'. North...In love with me? If not all of them. All of them in love with me? I'd dreamed of it, of course I had, but they couldn't. They wouldn't. But most of all; they shouldn't be in love with me. There's nine of them. Nine. And one of me. They could get girlfriends, ones that could keep them happier, more than I ever could.
That stung, though. Could I let them go?
"Gallifrey to Sang? Uh. I mean, Earth to Sang," the Doctor said, waving a hand in front of my face. I snapped back to reality.
"Oh. Oh, sorry," I smiled at him.
"Did you even hear me?"
"No. What did you say?"
"I called you beautiful, kind, and sweet. Really, I shouldn't even bother if you aren't going to listen."
I smiled slightly, blushing even more furiously.
"You think I'm pretty?"
The Doctor nodded curtly, walking into the kitchen to change the subject. I heard him mutter under his breath,
"I think you're more than pretty, you're bloody gorgeous."
No, no, no, no, my mind scolded, you're already in love with nine. You're not getting some crush on a tenth.
Another part, a more honest part, told me the truth.
Too late.
