I stared for a moment, in utter and undeniable horror.
"You..." I choked out, "You...You monster!"
Miss Goatina stared at me mournfully, in the same state of shock as me. For the first time since
Silas had bought the devil goat, we were on the same page.
Silas, however, was stood rather proudly, with his arm around her.
The goat was dressed up in mermaid costume. A mermaid costume. It was quite terrifying actually.
"It's like a fish and a goat had babies and this is the ugly one they didn't want," I whispered.
Her back legs were hidden in a silk blue and green glittery mermaid tail, a seashell bra on her, and her ears tucked into a long wavy red wig, probably trying to imitate Ariel.
Miss Goatina glared at the insult. Silas frowned and stroked her.
"Don't listen to her, Miss Goatina. She's jealous. You look beautiful."
I actually believed in that moment that Silas loved that goat more than me, and honestly? I was probably right.
"Where did you get it?" That I was seriously curious about. Who sold goat costumes?
The proud grin reappeared.
"I made it myself, Aggele Mou, isn't it great?"
I plastered on a fake and wavering smile.
"Yeah. Real piece of art."
"I almost forgot! I have a pearl necklace for her too!"
Silas span around and ran down the stairs.
Miss Goatina and I looked at each other.
"You poor, poor, innocent goat."
Miss Goatina bleated her demented sheep noise in an agreeing way.
I thought for moment.
"Then again you did eat my favorite shirt."
