I admit, periods aren't fun. They're uncomfortable, they make you want to sit down and eat ice cream, and your hormones go raging. But they are such a good excuse to freak out.
I kicked the chair. Goddamn chair. WHO SAID YOU COULD BE A CHAIR? THE CHAIR MAYOR?! NO SUCH THING EXISTS YOU STUPID CHAIR!
My onslaught was sophisticated, elegant, caused the chair lots of pain and made me look like a mad woman kicking a chair. In that moment? I didn't really care.
"Peanut, what did that poor armchair ever do to you?" Nathan asked, sitting a good distance away on the couch. I glared at him.
"It p*ssed me off."
"How?"
"It's being so assuming. It's annoying. I never accepted that it could be a chair." I've never been quite like this at my time, but I liked it. Or as much as you could like something past the fact you want to kill everything. And eat chocolate chip mint ice cream. Oh god, ice cream sounds good right about now.
"Ah." Was all Nathan said. I kept my kicking going, this time hitting the back of the chair and scowling the most despicable scowl I could muster. Victor strolled in, turned to me and my most charming situation of seat-kicking, smiled, and sat down beside Nathan.
"Princess, aim a little higher and twist your foot," he instructed. I froze and spun to him, raising my fist threateningly.
"Do you want to be next, pretty boy?" I growled. Nathan outwardly cowered, a scared expression on his face, but Victor just chuckled. Nathan leaned forward and whispered, but I could still hear.
"What's wrong with her?" He asked, his arms subconsciously going into defense mode. I actually growled. Maybe it was the hormones, maybe it was the craving for ice cream.
"Don't worry," Victor said, "It's just her time of the month." Nathan raised an eyebrow.
"Y'know," he elaborated, "full moon. She's turning into a werewolf."
It's fair to say in one hour that chair could never be sat upon again.
