Here goes the first chapter...( Josh's POV)

Shows were something so important to josh, that from the first time his drumstick touched his drum set emotions surged through him along with the ongoing beat from his drums. In those few hours he could lose himself in the music, forget the hundreds of insecurities that clouded his mind everyday. So when he was onstage he was happy. Deliriously, happy in fact, and so on this specific night January 18, 2017, nothing was new. The day before, he had played his heart out, it was special because it was the first show after their break, and although he had been glad to have nothing to do, to have time to see his beloved family, he had still desperately missed Tyler. Josh knew that Tyler loved his wife Jenna with his whole heart, with every single fiber of his small tan body. Josh knew this, and yet he couldn't deny that he envied her closeness to Tyler. No, he reprimanded himself, I can't think like this, not now, not ever, Tyler deserves to be happy, and she makes him a better person. He shook himself out of his thoughts, and once again became aware of the show surrounding him. Tyler was sitting at the piano. His hands pressed the keys slowly, his head bent, submissive to the memory of the sadness the song had been inspired by. His voice was so soft, it was quiet even with the huge speakers surrounding the stage.

I'm a goner somebody catch my breath
Im a goner somebody catch my breath
I wanna be known by you
I wanna be known by you

He  felt a sudden wave of sadness for his best friend. But it was a short lived sadness, followed by a surge of pride for him. He was so very proud of the way Tyler had refused to submit to his demons.

Though I'm weak, and beaten down
I'll slip away, into the sound
The ghost of you is close to me
I'm inside out
You're underneath

He had been so strong, and he had clawed his way up from the sea of depression he was drowning in, and with each struggling step he had fought for his happiness. Fought for the life he deserved. Josh would forever be in awe of Tyler. For Tyler was the strongest person he knew, stronger than he would ever be.
And now Tyler was muttering,
" don't let me be gone... don't let me be gone...DON'T LET ME BE!" Josh watched as Tyler slammed his hands into the keys, screamed, shook his head, and josh felt slow shivers travel down his spine from the shear power of Tyler's voice. The crowd heard it too and they screamed and cheered, because they saw just like josh that this was Tyler overcoming what he once was.  Josh knew what came next: Trees. Tyler stood in the center of the stage  his shoulders rising and falling, still breathing hard from his performance of goner. Josh looked at him from behind his drums and for one electric moment they held each others gaze, and then Tyler was heading back to his piano. Josh turned to the crowd, lightly tapping his stick against the cymbal, happily listening to Tyler's voice singing out into the darkness of the arena.

Before he knew it, he was standing at the edge of the barricade next to Tyler as the two platforms were being stabilized in the seething mass of people. He caught bits and pieces of what they were saying
" we love you!"
"You saved my lif-"
  " thank you!"
" I love you josh!" Shouted one fan near him, josh turned and smirked at her. He was always unsure of what to do in situations like this, but instead of worrying, he climbed the barricade and pulled himself up onto the wooden platform. He looked across to Tyler, he was kneeling down, touching the hands of the people holding him up.  Josh smiled at this, and did the same, grasping one hand after another, tossing smiles out into the crowd of faces.
Josh stood, and once again looked over at Tyler who nodded at him and smiled that true joyful smile of his, his brown hair sticking to his forehead from sweat. And josh wanted  to save that moment forever, because to him and Tyler for that one moment it was just them, no crowd, no fame, no Jenna. Just Tyler and josh, josh and Tyler, just like in the old days. Then the moment shattered, the cannons shot red confetti into the air along with huge billowing clouds of smoke, and the crowd was defining, and he Felt all of the happiness and joy emanating from all the people. This is why it was his favorite song. He caught Tyler staring at him, and he stared back as they hit their drums with all they had, and josh smiled so wide his eyes closed. Then it was time to climb back on the stage and take a bow. He draped his arm over the taller mans shoulder, and Tyler wrapped his arm around his waist. His touch was electrifying, and josh felt tingles running though him. Tyler was glowing with joy and pride as he stood there with josh, and so was josh he noticed. He walked off stage with Tyler, only to be met by the crew, and mark with his camera, his cheery face spread into a wide grin.
" what a great show guys. I mean my pictures will be better but..." mark joked. Tyler was laughing, and soon josh was too.
" as much as I love after show celebration," Tyler smirked, "you kind of stink josh!" Josh inhaled, and choked,
"Shit you're right" he laughed " I better head back to the bus for a shower." Josh went off in search of an exit from backstage, but the hallways and boxes of extra cables and mics all looked the same, and he found himself wandering in circles. He felt a tap on his shoulder, and he turned to find himself face to face with Tyler.
" judging by the smell you still haven't found your way to the bus and that much needed shower huh Josh?" Tyler joked.
"Yeah," josh replied sheepishly " I got lost in the hallways."
" I don't blame you it took me 15 minutes just to find you man." Tyler replied. Then walked off in the general direction of where he through the exit was. Josh soon followed behind him, once again lost in thought.
