Tyler:
Tyler felt like he was laying in water. The thing was he wasn't sinking, which meant it couldn't be water. Actually it could be, but Tyler couldn't float on his back in water, he had tried over and over in swimming lessons at the age of eight, but could only manage a few seconds before he began to sink and flail his arms. So this must be the Black Sea, he thought. At least he thought that was the name of it. He looked around himself and found nothing but a washed out gray. He could feel the slight tug and relax of water lapping at his sides, and he leaned back into it, letting his neck arch then relax and untensing every muscle one by one. He had been there for an undefined amount of time. Time was irrelevant because there was nothing to measure it by. Seasons, minutes, events, people, age, they were all non existent in the smooth gradient of gray that surrounded him. The water was so perfectly matched to his body temperature he could barely feel where it touched his skin. For that reason, he didn't realize for sometime that he was about to sink. It felt like nothing at first. A slight heaviness like you feel when you are sleepy but have to force yourself to stay awake. Then it grew. His skin felt uncomfortably tight, his stomach twisted, and he could feel a sensation spreading through him. It felt like lead was being pumped into his veins. First his fingers then his wrists disappeared underwater. His mind tried to find a solution, a plan, anything, but all he could think about was gray. Soon all that remained was his face. His mouth parted sucking in the gray air. His dark eyes wild, searching frantically for something anything to save him. His head was slipping too, falling into the water against his will. His lungs drank in one more final breath, then he sank below the ripples. The water was inky black, and he searched with his arms wildly. his fingers found the underside of the surface of the water. But what had once been a fluid soft barrier between water and air was now hardened. It felt like glass. Trapped. He could feel himself slowly using up the oxygen in his lungs bit by bit. He would never make it out. He'd die. He'd die and he'd never feel air against his skin. There was a reddish brown tint to the edges of his vision of the black water around him. Im losing time, his brain whispered to him eerily calmly. If you don't do something soon, you're a goner. Without thinking he pushed off of the glass, sliding down, down, down into the black depths. There were spots dancing in his vision. His chest was tight. He knew this feeling. He felt it whenever he sank to the bottom of the swimming pool trying to hold his breath as long as he possibly could. It's fine, he told himself, you're just practicing holding your breath. But when I'm holding my breath, I can always come up for air when I run out. I have none left. There's no more oxygen, stop pretending this will end well. No. I have enough oxygen. I will keep swimming until my limbs betray me. Tyler's muscles strained against the water, pushing it behind him in shaking strokes. He could feel the pressure burning in his head from oxygen loss and the tons of water pressing down upon him. Every second he thought that he was unable to go on. But every second he did go on. There was no light and no color. He could not see his arms or legs or where he was going. He was swimming as though his life depended on it( which it did). Pain screamed through his shaking body. He could hear a far off thrumming sound. A beat of a heart slow, unsteady at first, then stronger as his weak arms carried him slowly onward, his skin burning, and his mind fogged up like breath on glass. The sound was getting bigger, stronger. It reverberated and pulsed in between his temples and echoed deep in his stomach. It was so much sound and energy and Tyler's brain was pleading for it to all go away. The red at the edges of his eyes was encroaching on his vision slowly, it's soft edges bleeding into his view of blackness. He felt his arms give up and his body hang like that of a dead animal in butchers shop, limp and heavy. Weightless in the black water.
Am I dying
Was the last thing he thought.

A/N: I'm back
