After remarkably finding their way through the hallways of the venue, Tyler and josh burst out of the hot cramped space into a parking lot. They were hit by a cool breeze, it seemed it was just them, just them and the parking lot, and the stars above. Josh was first to notice the stars, poking Tyler's side to get his attention and pointing up into the pool of glowing pinpricks in the velvety black sky.
" beautiful."
Was all Tyler said, slightly lost for words as he gazed up, " so beautiful". Josh smiled at this, and agreed. The moment came to an end when josh shivered slightly. He was pretty cold considering he was just wearing shorts and it was January after all. Tyler noticed and shook himself out of his trance, slowly jogging after josh toward were the bus was parked.
" josh, I'm going to watch a movie or something , I'm not really tired yet."
" that's a good idea" said josh taking a seat next to Tyler on the couch.
" oh no, not before that shower," Tyler laughed and pushed josh off the couch in the general direction of the tiny bus bathroom. Josh groaned and stumbled off toward the bathroom. His arms had been sore from the show the day before, but now they ached painfully. He undressed and stepped into the stream of cold water, letting it run down his chest and back, streaming down his tattooed arm.
After washing his hair, he climbed out of the shower, shaking drops of water from his highlighter hair like a dog, and wrapped a towel around his waist. First he went to the bunk room, and but on some boxers and a tank top, then padded out into the little common area where the tv was. There was Tyler, remote still in hand, fast asleep on the couch. Josh held back a laugh, for he noticed by the screen that he hadn't even picked a movie. He stood there for a long time just looking at Tyler. With sleep his face relaxed, gone was the impressive stage persona he donned ever night for the shows. His fluffy brown hair stuck out in all different directions from all the times he had run his hands through it. His mouth was slightly open, and his chest rose and fell steadily. Josh couldn't bear the idea of waking him from his dreams to move him from the couch to the bunk room, so instead he carefully slipped off Tyler's vans and belt, slowly shifting his body and propping his head up with a pillow, then fetching a blanket to drape over him. Satisfied with his handiwork, josh settled himself onto the other couch. Ever muscle in his body ached when he moved, yet he wasn't as tired as he expected he would be. Mentally tired, yes, but it was the kind of sleepy drowsy tired that made your thoughts foggy and let you daydream on the edge of sleep. So he sat there, his head resting against the wall of the bus, staring out the window into the endless expanse of stars littered across the heavy sky, enchanted.
