The morning arrived as it generally tended to do, bringing with it a overcast sky, and a faint drizzle. They had rehearsal, followed by sound checks, and then a show. In other words, thought Tyler, barely time to think. He rolled out of bed, and went to the kitchen for food.
(Time change: before the show)
Josh was lounging on a couch in their dressing room, nervously drumming his fingers on the coffee table next to him. He had donned his stage costume, surrounding his eyes in bright red shadow, which made him look pissed, but at least it covered his face which was a plus. He was starting to wonder where Tyler was. He stretched his cramped limbs and stood, wandering out of the dressing room. He walked through the back stage area. Josh thought he never would get used to preforming, it seemed so unreal, so many people wandering around checking Mics and figuring out the backgrounds and lights for the show, it was strange. He felt so very out of place, people seemed to assume that he was so high and mighty, famous, confident, good looking. The truth is he was a child. A little boy like always, insecure, emotional, not sure what he was doing with his life. He hated it, so he hid behind his gauges and yellow hair, his tattoos and muscles, because the more confident people thought he was the better. Right?
Josh found himself in a small hallway crammed full of silence. He guessed the walls were concrete like the rest of the venue, but they were covered in layer upon layer of faded and creased band posters. He ran his fingers along their papery surfaces thinking of all the other people who had stood on the stage he would soon drum on. He heard a shuffle at the end of the hallway, and looked up to find Tyler slumped up against the poster wall. He held his head in his hands, his knees pulled up close to his chest. He looked so very small and nervous.
Tyler's nerves always seemed to get the better of him. He knew he had nothing to worry about, nothing but a crowd of adoring clique members awaited him when he preformed. No he didn't know what was wrong at all, he missed Jenna, that was it. Her easy laugh and the way she snored slightly in her sleep. Her porcelain skin and Icy ocean eyes. He missed her with his heart and his mind and soul. He wished she could be here with him, because these were the greatest years of his life, he was living his dream. He heard a noise, and looked up to find josh standing next him, looking down at him with red eye shadowed eyes.
"Hey Tyler...you nervous?" He spoke carefully and quietly, slowly leaning his back against paper coated wall and sliding his way down until he was sitting shoulder to shoulder with Tyler.
"I just really miss Jenna." He said, his voice wobbling slightly with emotion, he turned his face away from josh, ashamed of the tears that were leaking from his brown eyes. Josh felt his heart splinter slowly, but he knew it didn't matter.
"Hey.... hey Ty it's ok, don't cry, I'm here come'er." He said gently turning Tyler's face with his hand until he could see his face. He wrapped his arms around the small man before him, sheltering him from his worries. Tyler felt himself melt into Josh'a hug, gratefully barring himself in Josh's neck, breathing in is smell.
They stayed that way for what seemed like hours, Tyler wrapped up comfortably in Josh's safe arms. Finally Tyler shook himself, pulling away from the hug.
"Thank you josh." He said looking once again up into Josh's kind face.
" of course Tyler, I care about you," I love you "i will forever be here for you." He sighed. Tyler smiled up at him from under his lashes. They stood, and strolled off down the hallway that no longer seemed so intimidatingly silent to josh. They reached backstage, and watched the opening band. Tyler silently mimed the actions of the lead singer making josh laugh. Soon enough the band was bowing and leaving the brightly lit stage, and heavy dirty soul was beginning to play. Josh felt Tyler punch his arm
"Good luck man"
" good luck ty!"
Tyler ran out on stage, closely followed by josh who leapt up onto his drum platform and grabbed his sticks. Soon Tyler began to rap.
There's an infestation in my minds imagination
I hope they choke on smoke cause I'm smoking them out the basement..
