Chapter 22 (Scav)-

"Looks like someone likes the color blue," I laughed.

"Yeah I do, you have a problem with that," she said glaring at me.

"Let the match begin!" the professor commanded enthusiastically.

"Don't go easy on me just because I'm a girl," Eve said, firing the first shot.

"Don't worry I won't," I said as her bullets bounced off my chest. In an instant she appeared behind me firing more rounds. I swung behind me with my fist but she disappeared and was again behind me. "So your semblance is teleportation."

"yup!" I heard as she teleported above me while aiming to kick me in the face. I grabbed her ankle and spun her around and then released her. She flew across the room; teleporting behind me and managed to hit me in the back which knocked me down. At this point I was done with her little tricks. I got up and saw her charging me but before she could teleport anywhere I sprayed the orange gas in her face to block her vision, hopefully stopping her from teleporting. She staggered back from the gas getting in her eyes so I took the opportunity and grabbed her by the neck and activated my semblance; roaring in her face. Her feet left the ground as I grew in height and strength. I let her go but before her feet hit the ground I punched her in the gut causing her to fly across the arena again but this time she did not teleport, instead; she hit the ground.

She got up and backed away from me, trying to keep distance between us. I charged her when she got as close to the wall as possible but she was ready. Unfortunately for her, I was ready too. Instead of swinging my arm in front of me, I swung it behind me; anticipating her teleport. I felt my fist make contact and she flew back towards her weapons she dropped. She recovered midair, landing in a roll; her guns already trained on me. I cursed; she wanted me to anticipate her move.

She fired, this time a blue streak hitting me. It exploded against my skin but I only shrugged off the rounds. She slowly made her way to me, rounds still bursting off my skin as I advanced on her as well. She teleported in the air again, but this time it was in the sky. I saw red specs flying at me, only too late did I realize what they were. Instead of them hitting me, they hit around my feet which knocked me down. She teleported again on the ground, but this time she was kneeling. I looked down and saw why she lost her balance; it was because I caused the ground to shake. I faked myself getting up, again anticipating her teleport and smashed the ground; using the time to get up without her being able to do anything. I jumped in the air; making the distance between us instantly. I grabbed her and tossed her across the arena, making sure to shake the ground again. She slammed against the side of the arena and a buzzer went off. Recognizing the sound, I got out of my semblance and looked up at the big screen at our aura. Hers was in the red while mine had lost only a small fraction. Probably when she did that move with the fire dust.

"And the winner is, Scavenger!" The professor announced. I looked over at a recovering Eve and saw something odd. Her ring was glowing. Then I noticed a light from my own ring.

We went back to the locker room to put our equipment back; our rings no longer glowing. I heard the professor announce the next match and turned around. I was up again. Except this time, it was team against team. It was my team vs EPLN. Eve was right behind me, a curious look on her face. Had she noticed the ring as well?

Axi was first to pass me to get his weapons, the other two right behind him.

"Don't ruin it this time," I pointed at his hat.

"Says the one who ruined it," He said back. He was already around the corner before I could say anything and I made an executive decision to not bring it up until after the battle. This battle I might need his head on tight otherwise Eve would take him out pretty easily. Teleporter vs sniper; didn't seem like good odds.
