Chapter 44 (Axi)-My group was walking towards our search sector as we annoyed each other; more like the other two annoyed me, to death.
"What? No, peanut butter is great with celery!" Alyce argued.
"No it isn't! Have you ever even tried it?" Nevada disclaimed her.
I sighed, "Why haven't you found anything to do except arguing?"
"Why don't you like celery?' Alyce snapped at me.
"Why the hell does it matter so much! I like peanut butter! I'm the middle...guy...to your argument," I told them.
"That makes sense," Nevada threw his hands up in exasperation.
"Will you shut up for a minute? Here are some miners up ahead," I chided them.
"Hello!" One of them widened their eyes when they saw us. There was a small group of them and they weren't doing anything so they were obviously on break. All four of them turned to us like we were a sight for sore eyes.
"Okay, well. I think the miners have...a major case of homesickness," Alyce noted.
"I'd say so," Nevada agreed.
"Wait, you guys can actually agree on something?" I said sarcastically.
"Huh. Yeah weird, right?" Nevada shook his head. We got next to the miners who were still looking at us like we were gods or something. Okay seriously. Did these guys ever get a day off?
"Hey, kids! What are you doing back here; it's not safe," one of them said. I raised an eyebrow and pressed a button on the red rectangle I was holding. My weapon expanded into full Halberd mode, which got oohs and awes from them.
"I think we're okay," I looked around at the area, "what do you guys use for grimm attacks by the way? I don't really see any guards around."
"Guards? We're not that important, my friend. We use something called hope," One of them responded. I got a confused look on my face as they tried to tell us not to worry about it. There have been less grim attacks around this area.
"Gee, I wonder why!" Alyce shook her head, "But! That means Scav has to be around here!"
"We'll find 'em, eventually," Nevada said reassuringly, "hey, you miners. Have ya'll seen anything...suspicious 'round here?"
"No. Not since the grimm attacks subsided. Though, now that I think about it; there has to be a reason for it right? Well, these miners actually have been...disappearing for days at a time. But the problem is, they don't go into mines; they go that way," they informed us.
"I see..." I said, slinging my weapon back into its' smaller form, "Is that all?"
"I believe so," he nodded, "Yeah that's it."
"Thank you," Alyce smiled, "If you ever need help from grimm attacks, we're here for a few more days. Vital Festival," she explained.
"Thanks misses...?"
"Just call me Alyce." And with that we were off again. I wanted to ask them more, like why did they all head in one direction? But these guys seemed as clueless as we were. Even more so, in fact.
We knew now which direction Scav was in. Now we had to find the others. Which was probably going to take all day. I looked down and sighed when I saw rain clouds starting to form.
"Great," Nevada put his hands in his pockets, "'recon we hurry then?"
"Yeah let's get the move on and find everyone else. Let's talk with everyone we pass, just to double check anything we missed," I said. We walked for about five minutes before something jumped on me.
