RWBY (Salem: Dawn)

Round 2-

Chapter 23 (Layric)-

I grabbed my bow and hood; finally feeling comfortable again. Thank god they called us up. I wasn't sure how long I could stand in that stupid uniform.

I looked over and saw Axi with his suite/vest hybrid shirt and his hat over his red hair. The vest part of his shirt had a collar that he wore up instead of down. Against the bottom of his shoulders on his shirt, he had golden pins with red threads that went down to his chest. His blue eyes complimented his red hair which went surprisingly well with a pure black necklace he had. It was shaped with flower petal shapes on the outside surrounding an oval jewel; the metal holding it was chain linked. How he fought in that, I will never know.

We took to the main stage with Team EPLN facing us, waiting for the call. The professor called match, and just as I expected, Eve teleported behind us. The other three charged us. So it's going to be like that, huh? I changed my bow into my blades and not a moment after did they clash with the nearest enemy. Leo had an interesting weapon that was apparently more effective than I realized. His guitar blocked my strike and he parried by flipping the long part of it around his finger which knocked the head of it into my chest. He stroked a chord on the strings as it made contact and I flew back ten feet. I crumpled to a knee and he charged me, but I recovered faster than he expected. I leapt in the air; my light steps helping me gain air, and slammed my foot against the side of his head. He fell back with the force of me kicking off of him, launching me even higher in the air. I looked for a new target and saw Irene going at it with Eve. Somehow she figured out how to keep her from teleporting with her orbs she had. She was using her swords anytime they got close; but when they did Eve would just teleport away due to her not using her orbs anymore.

I looked over and saw my target..."Are you fucking kidding me, they have a fucking robot!" I heard Axi yell. It was Polly. She must have just now transformed.

I looked down, angling for her mec. I could see her controlling it from the inside from some vent at the top. That must be it's weak point. As I descended, it did something that almost gave me a heart attack. It flew in the air; but at an angle which indicated it only had jumper packs and not a full jet pack. As it got level with me, it unsheathed a giant sword on its back and swung it at me. I kicked my legs up, making my body go horizontal, and dodged the attack. Before Polly started to fall, I grabbed her mec by the vent I saw with my blades. I twisted my arms and let go at the last moment; landing on my back. Polly shot missiles at me but Axi had me covered. Sniper rounds echoed in the arena which was followed by explosions in the sky. I got up but she was already charging me. Scav came out of nowhere and slammed into her side, causing her to scrape against the ground.

"Pick on someone your own size!" He taunted. I looked up and saw that her aura had depleted. Polly's mec disappeared, leaving her limp on the ground. Seriously, what the hell was Scav's skin made of?

Scav and I looked for someone new to fight. Leo apparently was too; he somehow managed to sneak up behind me. I heard his footsteps fall closer to me. I jumped in the air at the last minute, bow in hand, and launched an arrow at him. It hit him in the shoulder. In an instant I had my blades again, throwing them at him. He played another chord and they flew in different directions. Before landing I made notes on where they landed. Leo charged me but this time I knew what he was doing. I jump kicked his guitar just as he tried playing it again making it twist around towards him. He flew to a happy Scav who picked him out of the air.

"Have fun!" I shouted. After wrecking Leo's face and slamming him into a wall, he turned to me and gave a thumbs up. Now there was Eve and Nevada left.

I turned to Axi who was now fighting Eve. He was doing surprisingly well with his halberd. She got in a few shots but he blocked it easily.

I looked at Irene and Nevada. She was only surviving because of her orbs. He was shooting insanely fast with his one pistol. Irene would make bubbles around the bullets which made them drop to the floor when they popped. I knew she couldn't keep that up forever.

"Help Axi!" I shouted to Scav. I sprinted to Irene and did the only thing I could think of. I pushed Irene to the floor and quickly covered the distance to Nevada. Confused, Nevada aimed at me. Good. My plan was working.

Hoping she caught on, I shouted, "Now!" To my surprise, his shooting stopped. I looked back to see him trapped in a bubble, his aura being depleted. Irene popped it once it got to red. Now, Eve was left.

I ran over to the nearest place one of my weapons were at. I was a quarter of the way when I saw Eve teleport behind Axi and sweep-kick him to the ground. He rolled out of the way out of any melee weapons but that was the problem- she had a pistol. She put a few in him before he dropped out of the match.

She looked over at me and suddenly, was in front of me, with both pistols to my chest; forcing me to stop.

"Well, this is is gonna hurt!" I clenched my face. She only nodded and fired. Pain shot through my chest as I flew to the wall on the opposite side of the arena. I closed my eyes in pain as I hit it but opened them in time to see her unloading rounds everywhere on Scav, obviously trying for a weak spot. She found one; his neck. As it hits, he roars as if activating his aura. Irene glowed blue and Eve glowed red, each of their aura being affected. Irene's went up while Eve's went down. Eve teleported to Scav and kneed him in the neck. Scav fell and hit the ground, but a glow illuminated from both of their right hands. Scav went back to his normal form and the glows disappeared.

Irene cast an orb at Eve who dodged out of the way, teleporting next to her. Irene got her swords, throwing one at Eve's leg just as she appeared. She dropped to her knees and Irene finished her off by retrieving the blade and transforming them into her assault rifle, which was more of a CQB AR; and shredding ice rounds into her. After it was all over, she was completely frozen.

"Team SALI is the winner!" The Professor announced, "That's all for today students. Tomorrow we'll start techniques with the sword. Even though it may not be your main weapon, you still should know the basics. Class dismissed!"
