 Chapter 24 (Irene)-

The next day was relatively boring with the exception of all the talk about our fight. Both Scav's solo and our team's fight; it was said they were the best fights of the school year. I felt a pride in myself for taking out the one person the others couldn't. We went through our normal classes without much excitement all the way until lunch. That's when that girl who was obsessed with Axi and her team started talking to us.

"Heyy Axi!" We heard from across the room. Axi stopped mid chew, his eyes widening.

"Heeehhh," He managed to say with food still in his mouth. I wasn't sure if that was a greeting or a 'kill me now' groan, but I thought it was funny. The girl accompanied by her team all sat down in the spots in front of us. It was her with flail boy and the brother and sister. I looked at my team before saying anything.

"Hey guys! Didn't realize Axi was this popular!" I said while giggling.

"I'm not even popular, they're just...umm..." Axi protested, trying to not be offensive.

"Right," One of the guys said, "Well. Skip introductions then shall we?"

"Oh! This is Franck. These two are Ecru and Linena. The last two are siblings. Anyway, I've decided we should do it in two weeks. We're both free then," Alyce smiled at Axi.

"What?" Axi cocked his head.

"Our date!" She said like she couldn't believe he forgot.

"Oh, right. Yeah, two weeks! Sounds good," He smiled.

"How about you take my tickets to that new Jennifer Mopez movie," Scav offered with a grin.

"What? Why do you even have tickets for that!" Axi asked.

"That's a good question," Scav said still not answering.

"Thank you, that literally helps nobody," Axi looked at the ceiling and sighed, "When is the movie?"

"6:39 on the dot," Scav replied, visibly relieved the first question was not asked again.

"Wait, what! Tonight!" Axi glared at Scav.

"No, saturday," Scav answered.

"Greeeeat! So, see you Saturday?" Axi turned to Alyce who was furrowing her brow. Her light blue eyes looked oddly good with her hot pink hair which wasn't up in anything special; her straight hair flowing freely.

"Yup! So I was wondering, have you seen any of our fights?" Alyce looked at all of us this time.

"I actually haven't been paying attention. I've just been lost in my thoughts but I'll be sure to pay attention next time!" I admitted. I typically didn't like listening and not contributing to a conversation so I took the opportunity to interject.

"Well, if you saw last battle, Linena here did exceptionally well!" Alyce turned to her teammate. Linena had blonde hair with mint green eyes. Her face was smooth, almost angelic...there was a name I wasn't remembering, but it described her exactly. She even seemed to move with a grace one would use in battle, as if she was always mid-fight.

"Oh please, the enemy was admirable. I merely got lucky timing," Linena said. Modest, was she?

"No but seriously, I hadn't seen anyone pull off that move as flawlessly as you. Not easy with that warhammer I imagine," This time it was flail-guy, Franck, he had red hair with brown eyes.

"Well it's not easy for you to pull off flawless move is it," said someone from behind. We turned around and saw the two muttonheads snickering, "Hey babe," the d-bag with spiky hair said putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Get off me, prick," I shouted; throwing him over the table.

"Woah, cat has claws!" The other one taunted, "Look out everyone!"

"Get away from my table. Now," I said between clenched teeth. These guys were starting to piss me off. And what they probably forgot was, I always have my main weapon on me. I was my weapon.

"Or what?" The one I tossed was back up, his eyes narrowed.

"Do you want to find out?" I leaned forward and flashed my eyes at him. One more word and I was about to-

"Are you done?" Linena stood up and got eye level with him. Something flickered off of her skin for a second, short enough for me to think I had imagined it. The boys reluctantly gave up.

"Whatever. This isn't over, princess!"

"HEY!" This time it was Scavenger who stood up, "Only I get to call her that!" He threw a spoon at him which clanked off his head and clattered to the floor, the boy following the spoons path.

"Dude, chill! What did we ever do to you?" The other guy knelt at his comrades side, who was rubbing his forehead. He started to grumble, then opened his eyes and moaned from pain.

"You took my name for her. I wouldn't recommend doing it twice," Scav was sitting again.

"Let's go," The boy who was hit with a spoon said groggily, fumbling away from our table.

"They'll never learn," Linena looked down at the floor.

"Maybe. But at least they got fair warning before I kick their asses next time," I clenched my my hands into fists.

"Hey CC. Did you know those guys?" Axi asked. I looked around, confused as to who he was talking to. Apparently, everyone else was just as confused.

"Um, who?" I asked.

"Cotton Candy," He pointed at Alyce, "CC."

"Oh. Um, no I don't. I don't know why they came over here. Why do you call me Cotton Candy?" She responded slightly blushing. That earned her a few dumbfounded looks.

"Blue eyes, pink hair. That whole thing," He answered.

"Right...why were they here though?"

"Scav and Layric. That's why!" I flashed a look at them. Scav shrugged and Layric just made an excuse.

"Hey, Scav's idea," he laughed.

"Layric, is it?" Linena looked at Layric with her sharp minty eyes. He seemed to take a moment to realize she addressed him

"Hu? Yeah that's me," he answered, seeming surprised she addressed him directly, "Oh yeah, I was gonna ask what exactly Cotton girl was talking about?" Layric responded as he pulled his hood down, revealing his full face.

"Oh, it was nothing, seriously, But you are really good with that bow? I'd like to know how to use one; perhaps maybe you can teach me one day?" She looked up shyly.

"Uh, what?" Layric looked taken aback.

"I mean I understand if you don't want to. I just-"

"What no, I wasn't denying, I just..." He tugged at his shirt collar, he was stammering, hmmm wonder why? "So you got a date, in mind? Wait no, I mean like period of time in the future!" His face was blushed bright red at this point, which caused me to snigger in habit, That's certainly out of character for him.

"Any day is fine." She smiled while twirling her hair.

"Come on, are all people this bad at hiding feelings? Man, that's just sad," The guy who's been quiet the whole time finally spoke.

"Sadly, yes," Alyce practically admitted her crush. Ecru, the guy who just spoke, bowed his head and shook it like he was disappointed. He had short military style hair that was brown with matching brown eyes. He was as stiff as a broom. This guy had to have been from Atlas. I don't think anywhere else teaches you such demenior.

"So, when-" riiiing! Franck was interrupted by the bell. Well. Time for class! Again.
