Chapter 3 (Axi)-
I found my way to the blacksmith after a few strange looks caused by my asking for directions.
"Don't you know where it's at? You should," Most asked. Apparently, this city knew everyone in it with lack of visitors. Either that or I was more stupid than the others and the city was easier to navigate than I realized. Either was believable.
I finally got there without too much trouble; no dangerous encounters, at least. After moving through small sections of the town consisting of subdivided networks of housing, I found the largest building I had seen since my previous encounter at the capitol of the city an hour before. I approached the midnight black building. It was built like a regular house but three times as big.
I walked up to the door, an "open" sign displayed over the door, highlighted by green neon lights. I sighed, but walked through the uninviting door. Which, by the way, was wide open. Believe it or not; it didn't help the "friendly" situation one bit.
Immediately, I heard metal against metal, and knew that this was in fact the blacksmith. A middle age man with a scruffy beard looked up and only nodded at me. Apparently, he didn't appreciate my presence, because I had to sit there at the door for ten minutes before he stopped what he was doing.
"Come in," He said as he put the weapon down on the anvil.
"Thanks for the hospitality," I smiled, but made it obvious it was sarcastic.
"Not from around here, huh?" He responded with his own smile.
"You'll learn my name soon enough. You any good at huntsman weapons?"
"The best," He spread his arms, presenting wicked sharp weapons aligned against the walls to either side of us.
"Good. I've had an hour to think about my weapon in full. A life time to blueprint it. Here's what I want. A Halberd/sniper hybrid. When switching from blade to sniper form, the battle side rotates in to create the scope, the other side the mag. But there's these parts at the edge of both sides of the blades that slide down the barrel to make a bipod, which is optionally extendable. Now, like any good weapon, this one has a spear head. When it goes into sniper mode, this spear head splits in two; one half of it sliding on the right side of the scope and the other half moves down to the end of the barrel, right before the chamber on the same side as the other. They become slingshots for easy maneuverability," I described it to him.
"Is that all, your majesty?" The man said in an annoyed tone.
"Oh yeah. Make the colors silver and red. And, have it done by tomorrow, would you?"
"Sure. How exactly are you paying for this, again?"
"Haven," I said simply. He nodded in understanding.
"I see. Makes sense. Come by tomorrow morning. You're in luck. My son is arriving soon. Together we should be able to complete it by then." I nodded and exited the store. Good, now that was settled, I could finally be a true huntsman. Not that it was that easy of course, but everyone had a first step.
