  Chapter 33 (Irene)-

"Hey mother!" I said, picking up excitedly. I was in my room with Axi who was playing some game on his scroll.

"How's it going, dear?" She asked in her usual sweet tone.

"Good! Oh, this is one of my teammates! Say hi, Axi!"

"Hi Axi!" He said, not looking up from his game.

"Don't mind him, he's just annoying," I said, looking back at him.

"Hey!" He protested, "At least I didn't bust a hole in your ship!"

"What's he mean?" My mom asked.

"Oh. Well, my other teammates. Let's just say you know them..." She was quiet for a moment; I could see her slowly figuring it out.

"Them! Wait, you're with a group of three boys! You haven't done anything...bad, have you?"

"Mother! No, I haven't!" I said, ignoring Axi's stupid comment.

"Just making sure," She said, "Do you know how your sister is?"

"Well-" I was interrupted when the door opened. It was Eve. She saw who I was talking to and slowly backed up.

"Oh! Hey Eve!" Axi said.

"You've got to be kidding me. The one time you look up!" I sighed.

"Thanks, Axi!" Eve looked down and sighed, "Hi Mom!"

"Eve! What in Remnant are you doing there!" She sounded mad.

"Uh...well... you see, I gotta go!" She yelled as she slammed the door behind her.

"Irene...." Mom scolded as she stared at me.

"Oh I'm sure you've guessed but she got kicked out of Atlas and enrolled here in Haven and now she goes here."

"Oh my," she said as she rubbed her forehead, "Your father isn't going to like any of this news, and we'll be seeing you soon, the Vital Festival is here in Atlas, did you know that?"

"Yes I've heard, only a few months in and I'm already heading back home!"

"Let's hope it's a pleasant trip, any bright news on your side?" She asked, obviously wanting to hear something good.

Let's see...of recent events, two of my teammates turned into monsters and tried to kill each other, and now they're both hospitalized, and I got in a fight with endless waves of grimm.

"Oh! And Um, the cafeteria food is alright," I half smiled.

"Verry funny Irene, how about your grades?"

"Oh pfff, they're excellent, wish I could say the same for my teammates," I said as I eyed Axi.

"Hey, mine aren't even that bad! It's just Terminal science. Garrett just doesn't like me, that's all," He said with a raised eyebrow as if waiting for me to challenge him.

"Fair enough but none of your teachers like you," I said.

"I know Garrett."

"Fine, you win," I gave in. An argument with him was hopeless.

"How is Eve doing?" She asked.

"She has another girl on her team so don't worry about all that. In fact," I turned to Axi and whispered to where he couldn't hear me, "She kind of already has a crush."
