Liliana's pov

"Dammit." I sigh as Jackson's phone goes to voicemail. I've been calling him all morning and he has not answered any of my calls and he didn't come back home last night. "Jackson, I understand that you're mad and I'm sorry for upsetting you, but you're being really childish right now. When you have a argument with someone you love, you work it out instead of avoiding them, you fight to get through it and I know you love me and that I love you, so just call me back so we can talk and work through this." I sigh leaving a message on Jackson's voicemail before hanging up and walking out of the locker room.

"Hey." Derek smiles when he sees me in the hallway.

"Hey, have you seen Jackson this morning?" I ask.

"No, Callie said he called in sick today. You didn't know?" He frowns.

"Um, he told me he wasn't feeling good this morning, but he was still thinking about coming in, so I just wanted to know for sure?" I lie. Derek's normally the first person I would've told about me and Jackson's fight, but Jackson and Callie are supposed to operate on Derek's hand soon and I know that if I told Derek about our argument he would get mad and wouldn't let Jackson operate on his hand and there's no way I'm letting that happen, Derek needs this surgery so he can be back in the OR.

"Okay, do you have any news for me?" Derek asks, making me realize that with all the drama that happened with Jackson last night I never told Derek what my results were.

"Oh, I'm not pregnant it was just a scare." I smile.

"See you got all worked up for no reason." He smiles.

"Yeah, I guess I did." I say.

"Well I have to go. Callie and I need to discuss the surgery. I hope Jackson feels better." He says.

"Thanks." I say before he walks away and I go to the front desk to wait for Stephanie who's on my service today.

"Hey Dr. Garcia." She smiles.

"Don't hey Dr. Garcia me, you're a minute late, I hate late." I say as we begin walking down the hallway.

"I'm sorry, I was just..." She says.

"No excuses, you're a surgeon and when you're a surgeon you can't be late or people die." I say.

"Yes ma'am." She nods before we walk into the patients room.

"Hey Mr. and Mrs. Trussel." I smile at the patient and his wife.

"Hey Dr. Garcia." They both smile.

"Mr. Trussel's having a corpus callosotomy. What's that gonna look like?" I ask Stephanie.

"We'll be severing some of the fibers that connect the right and left hemisphere of his brain to prevent the spread of seizure activity from one half of his brain to the other." She says.

"Correct." I say to Stephanie. "Now Mr. Trussel you should function much like you do now, just without the constant seizures, but if you're not sure for any reason we can wait." I say.

"Dr. Garcia, I have five seizures a day. I can't even be left alone with my baby, there's no doubt in my mind that I'm ready for this surgery." He says.

"Well okay, Dr. Edwards will check your vitals, then we wil get you prepped for surgery." I smile before walking out of the room. I go to a on call room and repeatedly try to call Jackson, but I don't get a answer and soon Edwards pages me 911, so I run to Mr. Trussels room to see what's going on. I find out he had another seizure, and once he stabilizes, we take him to the OR and Edwards and I get scrubbed in.

"I am retracting the right hemisphere, what do we want to avoid?" I ask Edwards.

"We want to avoid retractors on the sagittal sinus." She answers.

"Correct, and why is that?" I ask.

"To prevent sinus thrombosis."

"Excellent." I say. We continue surgery and finish successfully, then we scrub out and take the patient to recovery, I have Edwards check the patients vitals, while I go to an on call to try to take a nap since I didn't really sleep well last night, but I still can't sleep I just keep thinking about Jackson. Eventually it's time for my astrocytoma surgery, so I go check in on Mr. Trussel before taking my other patient to the OR. After I finish that surgery I have to operate on a patient with a aneurysm, which is my last surgery of the day, once I finish I hurry and go to the locker room to get changed before heading home. Jackson better be at the house when I get there or I'm going to file a missing persons report, I mean I know he's technically not missing, but I haven't talked to him since last night and anything could've happened between then and now and I need to know that he's safe at least. Luckily when I get home I see that his car is there and that the light is on inside the house meaning he's back. When I walk inside I see him sitting in the living room, but I don't say anything I just walk to the room. At this point I was aggravated by how he's acted today and I'm done trying to force him to talk, he knows where I'm at when he decides to stop acting like an ass. I go take a shower and once I get out Jackson's in the room sitting on the bed, I just continue to ignore him and walk into the kitchen to pour myself a glass of wine.

"Can we talk?" He asks joining me in the kitchen.

"Now you want to talk? After you stormed out of the house last night and ignored all of my calls today." I frown taking a sip of my wine.

"Lily." He sighs.

"Jackson." I say rolling my eyes.

"I'm sorry okay, I took things to far last night." He apologizes.

"Yes, you did." I agree.

"It's just, I was excited about the idea of making you my wife and starting a family and I was disappointed when the results said you weren't pregnant, but you were happy like you were relieved that you didn't need to marry me or have my child."

"Jackson, sweetheart I'm sorry if that's how I made you feel, that wasn't my intention. I just think that a baby is a huge responsibility and I want to be able to give my all, which I can't do right now. I'm still emotionally recovering from the plane crash and I'm in the middle of this lawsuit against the hospital, but don't ever think that I wouldn't want to marry you, because I don't want to be with anyone but you, I just don't want to only marry you because I'm pregnant. When we get married I want it to be because you're ready to commit to forever with me." I say.

"Marry me then." He says.

"What?" I ask, not sure if I heard him correctly.

"Liliana, I do want to commit to forever with you even though you aren't pregnant. I still want to spend the rest of my life with you, this isn't exactly how I planned to do this, but..." He says as he gets down on one knee pulling out a gorgeous ring . "Liliana, I knew from the first day I saw you that there was something special about you and that I wanted you to be a part of my life and even though you didn't make it easy at first, you were worth the fight. We haven't had the easiest journey so far, but everything we've went through has only made us stronger and made me realize how lucky I am to have you. Before you, I never knew what real love was, but now I do. Real love is when you except a person regardless of all of their flaws and they do the same for you. Real love is staying up all night with the one you love and wrapping them in your arms so they can feel safe when it feels like their world is falling apart, real love is only going a day without someone, but feeling like its been eternity and that's what I feel like with you. I love you, Liliana. I always have, I love everything about you, even the things I don't like, I love. And I want you with me for the rest of my life, so Liliana Camilla Garcia, will you marry me?" He asks.

"Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes." I smile as tears of happiness slide down my face and I stick out my hand as he puts the ring on it.

"We're getting married." He smiles, standing up and wrapping his arms around me as he spins me around.

"We're getting married." I laugh joyously, looking into the eyes of the man I love. My life isn't anywhere near perfect, but it doesn't have to be. Having Jackson in my life is all I need to feel complete and I can't wait to be his wife.

Lily and Jackson are engaged!!!
