Monday morning
Katherine's POV
It was Monday morning as I walked into science and took my usual seat next to Nick.
'Hello you.' He grinned.

'Well hi.' I grinned back. 'You're in a good mood.'

'What's wrong with that?' He replied.

'I never said there was!' I shrugged. 'By the way, have you seen that new sci-fi movie that's out in cinema?'

'Attack of the destroyer of worlds? Nope, but I can always get it on Blu-ray later.' He said.

'I'd love to see that film.'

'Tell you what, once I've got it on my laptop, I'll call you and we'll watch it together, yeah?' He offered.

'Sounds like a plan.' I nodded.

At that moment, a teacher walked in who wasn't Mr Varner. He was quite old and mad looking with a white wispy beard and black chunky boots.
'Who the fuck is that?' Nick whispered in my ear, tickling me slightly.
'No idea.' I shrugged.
'Hello class, I am Mr Hunt and I will be your substitute teacher whilst Mr Varner is away.' The old man said in a wheezy voice.
Out the corner of my eye, I saw Joe and Daniel give each other gleeful looks. In their world, a sub teacher meant that they could do whatever they wanted in class.
'And where are you from, the dark ages?' Daniel called from the back of the room.
'Right, who said that?' Mr Hunt said.
'Mate, did you get lost?' Joe shouted.
Me and Nick stifled our laughter. Trust those two to wind up the sub teacher.
'Right, I want you all to get out the biology level 3 textbooks, and work on pages 115 to 126!' Mr Hunt barked. 'And no talking!'
Wow, he was definitely a substitute teacher not to be messed with.
'Can we listen to music quietly while we do it?' Jessica asked in her annoying, whiny voice.
'No you cannot!' Mr Hunt responded.
Well I didn't mind the silence anyway. I got my biology textbook from my bag and flipped to page 115.

'Bleeding hell, that was the longest and most boring hour of my life!' Joe complained as we finally left the science lab for lunch.
'Exaggerating, as per usual Joe.' I rolled my eyes.
We entered the cafeteria and got some food, then we sat at our usual seats.
'Jamie's having a party at his house on Saturday.' Daniel started.
I rolled my eyes. Here we go again.
'Danny, you spend half your life at parties.' I stated.
'So, you all coming, or what?' He asked.
'Of course.' Joe agreed.
'Hell yeah!' Nick nodded enthusiastically.
'No.' I said.
'Oh come on K, please!' Joe begged.
'We've been through the same argument Joe!' I sighed. 'No means no, no matter how many times you ask me!'
'Pretty please...?' Nick gave me the sad puppy eyes.
'No, not a chance.' I said adamantly.
'Katherine, you're 17, with only 3 friends and no life whatsoever.' Daniel reasoned. 'You need to live a little.'
'If you don't come to the party, I'll follow you around school singing Call Me Maybe at the top of my voice.' Nick threatened with a cheeky grin.
'I said No-'
Nick took a deep breath. 'I THREW A WISH IN THE WELL-'
'Okay, okay, I'll come to the party!' I yelled over him. Anything to shut him up.
'Carly Rae Jepsen never fails.' He grinned.
'I don't know what's worse, the fact that you know the lyrics to the song or how you'll actually sing it to blackmail your friend.' I shook my head.
'Hey, it's not blackmail, just the powers of persuasion.' He shrugged.
