Austin

It was Saturday and I was stuck in my room trying to decide what to wear to the party. It started at 6:00 and it was nearly 5:00.
In the end, I picked out some tight black leather jeans, a black lace crop top with thin straps and some black high heels.
After putting them on, I curled my dark shoulder length hair into subtle waves and hairsprayed it to give it more volume.
I blended silver and black eye-shadow and added black mascara and black eyeliner to give myself a smoky eye effect. I paired it with shocking red lipstick because I read on the internet that red lipstick went great with pale skin.
I made sure my phone, keys and purse were all in my bag before I headed downstairs to wait for Joe. His older sister was driving us to the party.
I entered the living room where mum was sat on the sofa watching NCIS. She looked up when I entered.
'Wow Kath, you look amazing.' She smiled. Mum was thrilled when I told her that I was going to a friend's party. Even she thought I was too anti-social sometimes.
'Trying to impress someone?' She asked, raising an eyebrow.
'Mum, you are so embarrassing! No, I'm not, I don't date, remember?' I blushed.
'Why are you going red then?' She grinned.
'I'm so not!' I knew I was though.
A car drew up outside, saving me from further embarrassment.
'Bye mum, I'll be back before 12, promise!' I called.
'Bye Kath, have fun!' she said.
I opened the door to see Joe and Nick standing on the porch.
Joe did a double take. 'Bloody hell K, you look absolutely gorgeous!'
'Yeah, stop flirting with me.' I joked. 'Hi Nick.'
'Erm... Hi.' He looked like he'd zoned out for a minute. I shook my head amusedly.
'Where's Danny?' I asked, closing the door behind me.
'I'm the car with my sister. He insisted on staying there, but we all know he just fancies my sister.' Joe snickered.
'Yeah, maybe we'll find them making out.' I laughed.
'Oh, please no!' Joe cried out in disgust. 'We'd better make sure they're not, she's like 6 years older.'
We all laughed.

We arrived at Jamie's house at 6:15. Electronic music was blaring out of open windows and voices could be heard from the back yard. The front door was open for guests. We all got out the car.
'Thanks for the lift.' I said to Ellen, Joe's sister. She'd kept up a conversation on the way and she was really kind and funny.
'No problem hun.' She smiled. 'If you need a lift back, here's my number.' She handed me a small piece of paper with her number on it. 'Seeya.'
'Bye.' I turned to the others as she drove off. 'Come on then.'
We entered the house and headed to the kitchen.
Daniel handed us all a shot.
'Ah... I'm okay, thanks.' I put mine back down. 'I'm not planning on drinking alcohol tonight.'
'What???!!' Daniel objected. 'You're kidding, right?'
'No, I'm not.' I shrugged.
'Oh come on K, please? For me?' Nick said.
'Fine.' I relented. After all, I came to have fun.

Nick's POV
Katherine looked so beautiful tonight. When I saw her, I hardly recognised her in all black with dark eye makeup and red lips and in high heels.
I couldn't keep my eyes off her all night.  I might as well have been blind. She was already gorgeous, but her beauty was completely enhanced tonight. The eye makeup made her blue eyes stand out even more.
'Hey Nick.'
Speaking of the devil.
I looked up. Katherine was walking over. In her heels, she was nearly as tall as me. Nearly.
She put a hand on my shoulder, using me for support. 'Guess what Nick? It's nearly... midnight. When Cinderella turns into a pumpkin.'
I looked at the clock. It wasn't even 10 yet. It was 8:58pm.
'K, how much have you been drinking?'

She started counting on her fingers. 'Erm, 2 glasses, 3 glasses, 4, maybe a... Couple shots. Actually, I don't know. Maybe none. Hey, that sounded like a song! 1 glass, 2 glass, 3 glass, 4, I'm not done drinking yet, so...... give me more..?'
I laughed. 'Yeah, I think you've had enough.' I steered her towards the kitchen and got her a glass of water.
'Thanks Nich-o-las.'
'No worries.' I chuckled.

1 hour later
Katherine's POV
I was sober enough now to tell the time properly. It was almost 10pm. I'd leave in an hour or so. My social anxiety was creeping up on me again and neither Daniel, Joe or Nick were anywhere to be seen. I stood against the wall in the living room sipping coke from a straw. My head had stopped spinning, so that was something at least.
'Hi.' A voice to my left said.
I turned. It was a guy, maybe a couple years older than me, but he was really cute with dark hair and brown eyes. I didn't know who the hell he was though.
'Erm hi.' I said awkwardly. 'I'm sorry, but I don't think we've met before.'
'Oh, sorry. No, we haven't.' He held out his hand. 'Austin. Austin Hoffman.'
'Katherine.' I shook his hand.
'Nice name, Katherine.' He smiled. 'Do you have a last name? I told you mine.'
'It's Calvin. Katherine Calvin.' I answered. There was something about Austin that I liked.
'Wow Katherine, you have a beautiful name.' He complimented me.
'Thank you.' I smiled and looked at the floor. I wasn't used to situations like this, so I wasn't sure how to act or what to say.
'Oh, I love this song!' He said suddenly.
I listened. It was Asshole by Ronnie Radke and Andy Black.

'Oh, I like Ronnie Radke.' I nodded.
'Really? Cool.' He grinned.

'Hey, K, we're leaving now, you coming?' Joe called from the hallway. He and Nick were supporting a drunk Daniel.
Typical.
'Yeah, coming!' I started to go, but Austin stopped me.
'Call me, yeah?' He gave a small piece of paper.
'Sure.' I gave him a small smile. 'Bye Austin.'
'Please, call me Hoffman, everyone does.' He chuckled. 'See you around Katherine.'
I rejoined the others and helped them get Danny outside.

Ellen dropped me off first since my house was nearest.
As I undid my seatbelt, Nick turned to me. 'I had a great time tonight with you Katherine. You look amazing.'
'Thanks Nick, I had a good time too.' I answered, taken by surprise.
'Erm, see you on Monday then.' He said.
'Bye Nick.'
